The Stros have been consistent with the terrible teams all year. But there is always some weird outside force that contributes, like players missing for 10 days. 2017 saw us tread water in August too.
You apparently didn’t watch the Astros in August over the last few years…. Even lost 6 of 7 in one stretch during the epic 2019 (where it was hard for them to be bad during any month). Lost 8 of 10 in 2018. Went 11-17 in 2017.
Could easily be traced to the no batting gloves thing as well. His hand is in the dirt every AB… same dirt that contains plenty of saliva and dip residue. Not sure what he’s doing in between innings as far as hand washing goes… and fairly certain he’s biting his nails at times as well.
Dusty is an idiot who manages with his gut far too often. The front office had to script out the pitching strategy last post-season to avoid his past mistakes…. Hopefully they do something similar this year as well.
I watch plenty of Astros games. We can agree to disagree but Baker is garbage. That much should be evident to anyone following the team

That’s fine… but you’re setting up a precedent where you have to give Dusty all the credit for the passion and morale when they start hitting well again. I’m not willing to do that. Dusty makes dumb decisions even when they’re playing well. This team has always been good despite him, not due to him.
