Genuinely, these kids don't understand feeding the post. Back in the day they had it drilled into them about the same they learned what a layup drill was. And even then, a significant number of wings just werent really interested in feeding the post - ike at all. Much less having put in the time to learn how to setup and execute effective consistent entry passes, which does require significant practice.

In the current age, it's not going to even cross their mind. The limitations on Sengun's offense are going to be all imposed on him by things out of his control - the players and coachrs around him don't coach/play that kind of basketball anymore.

Here's the Rockets' post up numbers for last year:

I know some people are expecting them to run RudyT's 94 Rockets offense to get Sengun 10-15 post opportunities per game. That isnt going to happen. Coaches love their PnRs, players wouldnt have the skills or desire to do it even if the coaches wanted.

Excepting Denver, nobody is stuffing the ball into the post in this day and age.

Post touches off the pick and roll are an option too.
These guards don’t know how to pass out of a pick either. Too much iso

playing defense tho. You aware thats his elite skill. N we knew at least we should that No one in Spain is gonna be as good ass the guys he gonna see in the NBA. So naturally he would have to adjust to the things you can get away with on defense here.

My guess is the coaching staff doesn’t want to showcase what the players do well but instead get as much tape of them making mistake in order to show them and teach them why they are mistakes in the first place.

If Jaygup played well he’d feel like he doesn’t need much work. Allowing him to play his way only helps the staff break him down and show him why his way sucks balls

He’s not lazy, he’s testing. He already makes great quality passes.

You seem to understand what a basketball does, but not really what a human does tbh. Vince Carter was going to be Vince Carter, Hakeem is Hakeem and Green is Green. It’s hilarious you think those careers would go different without altering anything in their consciousness, just with some extra training.

Ben Simmons has been practicing shooting every summer. that’s not what will make him shoot.

But he isnt seeing players in the NBA he is seeing rookies his peer group and guys hoping they get into the league. Im not talking about him struggling in the NBA I'm talking about now. Every SL roster only a couple guys will see the NBA, the rest are GLeague bound or wont be retained by the team after SL.

If you compare Garuba to JT Thor for example, Thor is playing better and seems much further along the devt curve despite having no international experience. I can excuse Garuba for not being good offensively but he looks lost out there on defense zs well, isnt really imposing himself defensively and serving as the defensive backbone of the group.

Spanish league is rated the best Euro league and arguably only below the NBA itself. If a player did decently there he shouldnt look lost AF in SL thats why Im disappointed with Garuba.

lol its not only jaygup its the players who gonna be cut also LOL so the story doesnt hold waters....i guess its why they allowed johnny the ballhog and olabricko do their thing the entire last year and leave the wood hanging(LOLOLOLOL)
only to show them the mistakes so they can learn lolololol

More logical explanation is they simply dont care for these things, NBA is a mere WWE anyway and intrigues, narratives and photo sessions are more important anyway...and i get it, do whatever puts people in seats ...
but dont be surprised when FA wont come here(because you allowed scrubs to not pass them the ball) or when a diamond like Alperen leaves for LA,

and dont cry then,' but we have no choice!, we must tank because we cant get FA to come! were not an attractive destination!'...

because you had the choice and instead you created a toxic culture where PR, photo sessions, the haircut and being someones friend is more important than passing the ball and other the basketball FUNDAMENTALS

so tilman is cheap and penny pinching but jaygup is only testing?
Perhaps tilman was also only testing this entire time and he gonna be a goat owner in 10 years?

I can tell this board is going to turn into what happened during Yao vs Francis and Yao not getting enough touches except now it's the guard player in Green who's the higher prospect and more efficient scorer than the big man lost player.

The speed in the NBA is much faster on the average than in Spain. The guys who are playing in the summer league aren't all rookies.

That also goes to show you how high JC’s defensive IQ is. They are using a heavy switching defense, and he’s never lost, seamlessly bodying one guy to the next as he switches.

maybe Madrid played a lot of man and/or zone, and Garuba needs reps in switching defenses, and vocal defenders like JC will help with that.

Post up game is relative to the player and his skill level in that regard - nobody on the 76ers forgets to feed Embiid to get him going. Christian Wood has very little post up moves, plus he lacks size and strength to take advantage of even a mismatch in the post. Some could even argue that the last few NBA champs didnt believe in feeding the post thus the stigma remains. I think its a great wrinkle for an offense to have - sadly the Silas offense does hardly anything of the sort. With intent at least.

On that note: Morey you rat b*stard! You felt the "Stone is gonna nab Embiid" chatter I KNOW IT!! LOL - oh well. Jokic doesnt move the needle for me as a FA in a few years quite the same way Embiid did, but he would undoubtedly help out if the team is ready to compete.

Yeah, there will be camps for certain rookies here and just wait if KPJ doesn't pan out.

Yeah, to me I’m gonna stan for Green and Sengun equally. Both of them show the ability to be stars.

Yeah but again majority of these guys arent gonna make it to the NBA and they certainly aint gonna rip a new one in Spanish league.

Look at Sengun. Turkish league is considered a tier below Spanish league and Sengun is sulposed to be the defensive liability. How come Garuba looks aloy more lost than Sengun? Sengun cant even understand English half the time lol. In terms of understanding what is happening on the court I expected Garuba to be more advanced than Sengun if looks lost AF then whats the diff between him and JT Thor? Thor looks like the better prospect now has a better shot and also isnt lost on the court.
