so with MDA, Morey, ROCO gone and WB replaced with Wall the right thing to do for a top 5 superstar in his prime is to be Wall's tank co-commander? or contend of a 1st round exit?

You can argue that if you wish im not gonna talk in circles with you. If thats your opinion have at it. The point was how Harden went about getting the trade was not right, you can argue if we were gonna win with someone else.

Well there’s no questioning okc did this to shift their first round pick timeline back considering they have a plethora of picks. A big question is whether or not presti would have felt the need to shift the timeline if he got a top 5 pick to build around this year.

As to your point about DC at 15. Maybe. It’s not unreasonable to think they would trade down with us for their pick back. I just view it as unlikely considering there is a sense of urgency around getting Beal help right now. If they would’ve done it then why didn’t they? I’m sure we offered them that at 15 before we offered OKC that package for 16.

I suppose it’s also a question of if sengun would’ve landed to us at 18 anyway. There’s a lot of ifs to be objectively sure if we would have sengun or not if we didn’t keep the OKC swap. I’m just leaning towards no.

Why do you keep ignoring pick 18? We didn't have pick 18 this year so we couldn't have offered it to them this year. It seems like you aren't grasping what I'm saying.

We should also all agree that what he did is basically how business is done in the NBA. It's what Jimmy Buckets and AD did just a few years ago. Asking out behind the scenes doesn't really get it done. The teams will usually just hold on to you if you play nice.

The initial discussion is whether or not we’d have sengun if we didn’t keep our top 4 protected swap from OKC.

In that scenario, we have pick 18 instead of pick 2. I’m with you on that. The point I said of “if they would’ve done it then why didn’t they” was sloppy. You’re right that 18 plus the two protected picks changes the package.

At that point I might question if Stone would think it’s worth it to offer that package though. At the very least not keeping our pick might make it more costly to acquire sengun.

Going back to the even bigger picture, I think harden put this franchise in peril and I don’t give him any credit for Stone adjusting and making it work.

So you're going to pretend that, that is all Harden did. he just simply asked for a trade in public and nothing else hunh? lol Geez and now we are back to the denial of a few months. Congrats I am now sorry I ever even made this thread.

Peril of what though? What was the other option? I think looking back it should be obvious dumpling Harden when we did was the best move. This scenario was one of the chances. What alternative do you prefer?

so you're saying MDA & Morey leaving, ROCO gone, and WB for Wall was Harden's fault?

I'm not acting like that. Do you not remember what AD and Jimmy did?

he prefers that a top 5 superstar in his prime be forced to either tank or continue with endless 1st round exits with Commander Wall

He was under contract, not being held captive against his will.... No matter how you spin it, no matter how you justify it.... Harden is the cowardly lion from The Wizard of Oz.....

What Harden did was worse and AD was at the end of his contract but both those things are besides the point. The entire point is what he did the way he went about it was wrong. Im not talking about anything else. the covid stuff the not being in shape the bickering with teammates and the not playing to his abilities were all things that were ****ed up. That is the only point here everything else is just changing the subject.

Sure. But that's the go to when stars want out in the NBA. They bully their teams into trading them because teams don't really care what the players wants in those situations. And when teams want to dump guys like Bev that took less to stay nobody bats an eye.
