People have been talking smack about Houston as long as I can remember. The funny thing is, a good comparison between Houston and, say, a city like Detroit, would be to compare the number of former players and coaches from around the league who chose to live in Houston, with those in the Motor City. My guess is that Houston would be ahead by an enormous number, which speaks for itself.

Having said that, Detroit has an awful lot of history that I'm sure the people who live there are very proud of. There's supposed to be a great automobile museum, which is unsurprising. I'd like to see it someday. Their music scene is famous, of course (as is Houston's). Jalen is certainly pumping up a rivalry. Heck, we could use another one.

People love to react or more accurately overreact to even the most innocuous comments. I see no problem with Jalen choosing to have a little fun with Detroit for not being drafted #1. Pro athletes are wired differently than the rest of us mere mortals anyways. They'll take the smallest slight and turn it into a massive chip on their shoulder in order to continue to help motivate and propel them onward to newfound heights. It makes little sense but it's also part of what makes sports so much fun.

 

I literally said altercations are the norm in the post.
Is a punch not an example of an altercation? Are players talking trash and getting into each other’s faces not also altercations?
