I understand your point of view, but I'm starting with the point of view that Dusty WILL GIVE days off and you have to choose when to receive your poison.

The Astros give players days off as they need them. Picking your poison just ensures players are playing suboptimally when they need rest, and aren't playing against the dregs whether or not they need rest at that moment making it easier to lose easier games.

Even if he wanted too, No Tucker/Bregman forces his hand.

fixed for everyone except Ripken (who theoretically hurt his team by not taking some days off)

I know we were disappointed as hell with losing the series against the Twins, but after that series, they went 2-1 vs CWS, and most likely are going to go 2-1 against TB, so it was not as atrocious as their record would indicate. Having said that winning today is important if some of these results are maintained.

Is it just me or does the launch angle on an average McCormick hit just look strange? It almost looks like he puts top spin on the ball most of the time.

Even though he struck out, good professional AB for Meyers. 12 pitches and down 0-2

If the bottom of the order continues to get pitch counts up, the top of the order will feast the 2nd time through the order..... That's key against playoff rotations....

Gherig had ALS so he was hurting his team much more than Ripken at the end of his career, before pulling himself.

both players are baseball gods though, and there should be no criticism of either.
