You can tell this was written by the idiot himself or one of his uneducated minions.

"The radical left haters cannot be allowed to get away with this." Trump and his posse ARE the radical left haters.

It should have read, "the hateful radical left..."

    Too bad ignorance isn't painful.

Widow of officer who died by suicide after Capitol insurrection sues pair of rioters

    https://www.courthousenews.com/wido...er-capitol-insurrection-sues-pair-of-rioters/

WASHINGTON (CN) — The widow of Jeffrey Smith, a D.C. Metropolitan Police Officer who later died by suicide, filed a federal lawsuit Friday against the two men she says assaulted her late husband during the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

While being escorted out of the Capitol by police officers, an unidentified individual in video footage allegedly handed David Kaufman, one of the rioters, a metal rod that looked like a cane or a crowbar.

Kaufman then violently swung the weapon and struck Jeffrey Smith in the face when his face shield was up, giving him a severe concussion and neck injuries, according to Friday’s lawsuit.

“It appears that Kaufman and John Doe specifically and maliciously targeted Officer Smith because his visor was in the upright position, making him vulnerable to this brutal and vicious attack,” the complaint states.

Erin Smith, the officer’s wife, said that after Jan. 6, her husband seemed to slip into a deep depression, becoming quiet and moody — while still in pain from the assault.

The next week, Jeffrey Smith was ordered back to work, but shot himself with his service weapon on the way to his shift.

The cause of death was severe depression and brain injury, according to the lawsuit.

Trump is a sick man. He belongs in a mental hospital.

"EXCLUSIVE FBI finds scant evidence U.S. Capitol attack was coordinated-sources":

    https://www.reuters.com/world/us/ex...ol-attack-was-coordinated-sources-2021-08-20/

    excerpt:

WASHINGTON, Aug 20 (Reuters) - The FBI has found scant evidence that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result, according to four current and former law enforcement officials.

Though federal officials have arrested more than 570 alleged participants, the FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump, according to the sources, who have been either directly involved in or briefed regularly on the wide-ranging investigations.

"Ninety to ninety-five percent of these are one-off cases," said a former senior law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation. "Then you have five percent, maybe, of these militia groups that were more closely organized. But there was no grand scheme with Roger Stone and Alex Jones and all of these people to storm the Capitol and take hostages."

Stone, a veteran Republican operative and self-described "dirty trickster", and Jones, founder of a conspiracy-driven radio show and webcast, are both allies of Trump and had been involved in pro-Trump events in Washington on Jan. 5, the day before the riot.

FBI investigators did find that cells of protesters, including followers of the far-right Oath Keepers and Proud Boys groups, had aimed to break into the Capitol. But they found no evidence that the groups had serious plans about what to do if they made it inside, the sources said.

Right, it was just the result of extremist, dishonest GOP rhetoric that poisoned people against their own country.

Coincidentally it has been a great fundraising tool for the GOP. One hand washes the other...... so to speak.

Everyone knew this wasn't some great scheme to overthrow the government and I am glad the the FBI confirmed that. Shout out the PD for their work that day. Hopefully never happens again.

It will keep on happening as long as the former president keeps on telling people that democracy has ended and that there is an illegal usurper in the White House and our voting system is fraudulent and a sham.

Any person with a functioning brain would see that causes violence from a mile away.

It's always difficult to coordinate a mob.

Not everyone. Just like it's not accurate to say everyone knew this was more than just trespassing.

Coordination isn't necessary. Months of talking them up with bs and lies were all that was needed. Many of them still do not know they were a tool.

You are right. Many were swayed by the media into believing this was attempted coup.

And you were swayed by something into believing this was nothing but trespassing.

Nay, some connect the dots and it's quite rational. Coordinate or not, the mob accomplished what Trump wanted - to disrupt and delay the certification. Just because there isn't a direct message from the top doesn't mean there isn't an attempt from Trump. There are plenty of evidences that he tried to overturn the election. The mob is just part of a tool he used.

Are you accurately reporting what the leaked FBI analysis was purported to report? As I could ferret out from the leaked reporting... "90%-95% of the arrests were not part of a "coordinated scheme" (using your words). So first of all, doesn't that imply that 5-10% of the arrests were part of "coordinated scheme"? Doesn't that suggests that there was a planned out and attempted plot to overthrow the government?

And how does this lessen the danger of thousands of people attacking the capital, the very heart of American democracy?

This is what some people are conveniently forgetting.

A shitty coup attempt is still a coup attempt.

The folks who entered the capitol building were trying to decapitate our government. Full stop.

Whether that whole enterprise came about through years of coordinated, careful planning or suddenly via Natty Lite and Red Bull is irrelevant.

This was a protest, a riot, and a coup, altogether. One does not preclude any other.

The elected officials who played with fire in the lead up to this event should have to wear the cone of shame for this forever.

It was an attempt to stop a joint session of Congress from certifying an election for President and will be a stain on the GOP and this country for decades to come.
