Really enjoyed the first episode, after being unsure of what to expect. Some nice (obviously) call-backs/Easter Eggs to Captain America. Interested to see where this is going.
Fun concept for a show...just not where I thought it was headed. I thought this was going to be more of a documentary-style show. For instance, Peggy is now the super soldier. Would Britain claim Peggy as their soldier and be politically motivated to go against the US? Bucky never would have been captured by Hydra and never would have become the Winter Soldier, as Hydra would have been snuffed out (due to you-know-who dying to the portal you-know-what, in the episode). This means that Howard never would have been assassinated - would Tony Stark have become the man he was, if his parents were still alive? Stuff like that would have been fun to ponder and explore further. I have a lot of questions, though. Spoiler Why did Howard stylize the shield after Britain's flag, rather than the United States? I get Peggy is British, but you're still fighting within the United States Army... Was the Hydra Stomper also made out of vibranium? If not, what metal makes it "indestructible?" Assuming it was vibranium: If Howard had that much on hand, why not use it to make 2-3 smaller Hydra Stompers, rather than 1 Ironmonger-looking one? Where'd the tentacle monster even come from? There were some parts of the animation that felt super Disney. One part, especially, was when Peggy beat that German dude up.
It was OK. I wonder if they'll continue with this universe, or look into other universes? Like, would be better if they fully explored this one.
Episode 1 was cool and I enjoyed it but… Spoiler If it’s following the story of Cap 1, where was the Chtulu beast before? Or was that wall with the carvings in the movie? Regarding the tentacles, it could be nothing or just a plot device or it could be introducing us to Shuma Gorath The Watcher’s voice in the intro gave me Heavy Metal vibes. I wonder if it was intentional.
I was expecting Spoiler Rogers to become the Winter Soldier after his apparent death I think the Tentacle thing comes from The Red Skull being into the occult. In the movie we did not find out where he was trying to open doors too . . . .. Rocket River
