It's fair to say Mobley looks horrible. I don't think he's going to look much better all summer league. I feel for Cavs fans who would like to see more. Summer league isn't a great venue for someone like him... but then he also just needs to be better for sure. Him responding to "soft" labels consists of him trying to post people up as far as I can tell which isn't exactly a strength of his yet. He's been ok defensively nothing amazing. At least he already has 2 rebounds. One thing of concern... and this might be coaching, too... he's just not involved in plays much at all. When he is it is purely for give it to him and let him make a move. Why aren't they constantly using him to set screens?
Terrible from Cole Anthony. Franz Wagner open from the corner, he rather chucks up another one. Brick. I'm not high on Cole Anthony, don't know why people like him
I have to actively look for him to find him on the court. No presence offensively. He does have 10 points already however. His midrange jumper looks really good. Postups not so much
It's also about system and coaching. When Green says Rockets play with more pace AND space than his G League team that's legit commentary for a league that plays very little defense and uber focused on offense. Cavs system reeks.
I didn't think Cade looked particularly impressive in either of his games. Mobley looking better this game than last. He had a nice dime that his teammate missed (shots every time a player misses a point blank layup this SL) and he missed a bunny as well. He does look awkward though. He doesn't have Sengun's footwork or offensive arsenal so he just kinda hangs out at times. But when he does engage I'm not sure there's anyone who can stop him on the floor. I hope he hits because it'd be fun to watch all these guys become All Stars.
I was going to come in here to say some similar stuff, but I don't think he looks horrible -- just that he doesn't look like he warranted that pick with how he's being used. He seems to be guarding the 3 point line on most plays. I guess he pulls their big man out doing that, but... I don't know. The other thing I think it may be is that they're trying to not get him hurt after the Rockets' game. I heard he tweaked his ankle or something in the first half in that game. These are somewhat meaningless games, but he just looks like he's only involved in half the plays for the most part. Anything down low it looks like he may get beat up for no reason other than winning a summer league game. He may look better with better guards getting him the ball. I was shocked he had 10 points at halftime. Didn't seem like he did much, but... there it is.
Suggs has nice rebounding instincts. I'm sure he will be a tripple double machine at some point. Mobley with yet another really poor rebounding performance. The dude looks like the by far longest player on the court and is walking around with 3 rebounds.
I never said the only two options for the Rockets was 2 first round picks to Thunder for: Option A) moving up to #16 to draft Sengun or Option B) trade John Wall (to Thunder) There are 28 other teams besides the Rockets and Thunder Nmd.......I'm too busy with work to discuss Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda
I'm not sure who they are but these two female commentators calling the cavs/magic game are having the time of their lives lol. dramatic but definitely a change of pace from what we normally hear
