Took a look at Fox News website earlier and on the front page there were no articles about the coronavirus, but 4-5 articles about Cuomo and 2-3 articles about crime in liberal cities.

Republicans and the right want to completely ignore covid and their embarrassing response to it. Politically speaking, Democrats need to hammer the Republicans on it. I think Dems will win the mid-terms because a lot of people are sick and tired of right wing politics.

Most of us will do literally anything for our mother or father. One of the worst feelings in the world is when you are helpless to act. The frustration is almost unbearable. Whether circumstances have them unreachable and you can't be there, or you are sitting by their hospital bed. That, or pacing in the hallway. I lost both of mine many years apart and unlike Max, I was there, yet could do nothing. It's maddening. I feel for Max and I hope his Dad makes it through this. Those years are precious.

The Woodlands is such a pretty area but ******* are they conservative.
I saw a couple people with Honk if you think Black Lives Matters signs there last year and told them they're brave, very brave.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure Covid killed my father. He caught it early this year and my brother and I thought, Oh, ****. Because he was 76 and 25 years of a heart condition.

He made it through, though. But he took a turn a few months ago, weird symptoms (a flash like lightning in his brain), and that began the downward spiral. No one talked about Covid being the culprit but I think Covid was the last straw for a weak immune system.

At least we all got to attend the funeral in Iowa, vaccinated, in late May.

I inherited some money from the estate, but you remember that line by Minnie Driver in "Good Will Hunting" how she would give back the money she inherited from her dad after he passed if it meant she could spend one more day with him? Pretty true.

It gets even worse as you head towards Montgomery and Magnolia. Everywhere you drive you still see trump signs and flags, and every Saturday there is a booth on 1488 selling trump flags and other crap... shouting at cars as people drive by.

My gf and I see those tools all the time at the 2978 intersection. Get get a good laugh as we drive by...and then we get sad because it's sad that these people just don't realize the cult that they're in and how stuck they are. It's truly pathetic.

On the topic at hand, I have a customer who is super righty and swore up and down that this was all fake. Then he started taking hydroxychloroquine because, you know, trumpybear said so...but obviously not vaccinated. Then he tested positive 2 weeks ago while on a trip to PA. He had to drive home instead of fly because of the positive test. I happened to speak with him as he was driving and he said the medicine was working and he felt fine. Fast forward to a meeting I had with some of his salesmen on Friday and they told me he's not feeling well at all. Spoke to another of his salesmen today who told me he's been in the hospital on oxygen since Sunday. No clue yet when he's getting out.

As I said in an earlier post, I don't have sympathy for these people. They made a choice and it that choice was and is stupid. I'm not saying I want him to get worse or anything like that. I like the guy (when we aren't talking politics or religion). He's been a great client. He has a big family that he supports. But I also don't feel all that bad because he was an idiot when it came to this.

There will be more that were shocked others knowingly fought to put those Kindergartners and their teachers at risk to Covid. The students aren't in masks that long. They eat, have snacks, and time without the masks each day.

Five years from now people will be even more amazed that so many people died needlessly and many more were hospitalized while so many people argued against science and medical experts simply to defend a political position...

They did it last school year. Kids didn’t complain. They are more “adult” about it than adults.

Masking is also a norm in Asian culture especially since the 1st sars outbreak there. Years later, it’s more accepted and not frown upon. In fact, anti mask is frowned upon.

In all likelihood, years later, people will be baffled about the angry pushback from the relative few but loud anti-maskers.

Kids are more at risk from seasonal flu and we never masked for that.

Any adults at the school either have had COVID, had the vaccine, or have been offered the vaccine. They are free to mask if they like, but doing it to children for no reason is cruel.

It's just petty tyrants that get off on exercising control over people's children.

the Feds and FL Dems are going to do everything they can to thwart DeSantis and make children in FL wear masks.

They don't want FL to be an example of why it isn't needed.

Oh my God. Kids can transmit the virus, regardless of their own symptoms. The virus is way more transmissible than the flu, and kids are really good at spreading disease...ask any parent of a kindergartner. ICUs are overflowing. Those are the reasons.
