Going to pay all these players in 3yrs?? I love what I have seen thus far from Green, Christopher, Sengun and I haven't even seen Garuba! But damn what a nice problem to have.
But Wood is going to get paid, Jalen is going to want Luka money, same for Sengun and Christopher is looking good too! Will there be enough to go around??
Wood will likely be the odd man out. They will have to make a decision on him the year before this class gets their paydays.
I highly doubt that the Rockets will be the ones giving Wood his next big contract. In fact, I'd put it at 50/50 that he even finishes this contract out as a Rocket. The money will be saved for the standouts in this class, along with any big trade pieces or FAs that might be available if the Rockets end up being competitive.
I don't think it'll be an issue tbh. Wall and Gordon gone will clear up a lot of room and then you have to look at the situation realistically. We have the 2 slightly older "core" guys and the young bucks with Wood, Tate, KP, KJ, Green, Garuba, JC and Sengun. That's 8 youngsters we're looking to develop. Say we get 2 more next year, that's 10. Of those 10, it's more likely than not than less than 3 will be "top tier" star players, if any. Some won't make the cut or will want to leave or won't mesh. Others will be starters, others will be roleplayers. Not everybody gets a max/high contract, I see no reason why there wouldn't be room.
KPJ? LOL If Jalen Green will ever be a good player in this league, the first thing that the Rockets need to do is to trade KPJ or just release him. This kind of Harden clone will do nothing to help the team, you want to have a healthy environment for the young rookies to play the game the right way, you need to start a new culture here. Obviously, the seond thing is they need to find a real coach to grow these young rookies.
Before we get ahead of ourselves… They all still have a lot to prove and KPJ still needs to keep his maturity in tact before handing him a truckload of money. Out of the three, Green will be the most likely to secure whatever his max will be once his contract is up. Sengun, while looking very promising, still needs to show he can translate to the actual league and even then idk that he’ll necessarily get a full max on his first deal if he lives up to the great play we’ve seen so far.
Y’all mad disrespectful to KPJ. If we leaned anything from last night it’s Green can not be the primary ball handler lol
When you go shopping where do the workers put the money at when you pay in cash? Inside the register in a TILL. What more than anything is Tilman known for other than bad food and mob ties? Money! Mr. big spender is what they call him. Sooo $$ + man = money man aka Tillman. And the answer to the question all lies inside the man’s very name. Full circle. Tillman the money man. Luxury Tax Savings is now being fitted for cement shoes.
Easy. Just win the championship within 3 years and then trade those players for luxury tax savings, players on the MLE and picks so we can do all this again!
