Booster shots might be needed because people like who don’t take COVID seriously and think it is ok to have it spread which then mutates into more deadlier variants. Critical thinking is lacking.
A big problem in Louisiana (and likely across the nation going through this surge) is lack of personnel. You can have as many beds as you want but they are useless without personnel. Source: news + family working in BR hospital. Also, this… whatever the reasons, it’s a crisis now
While this might be an intellectual exercise for you, Os, what you may not realize is that you exhibit a striking lack of empathy. Some of us have friends and relations that have been impacted by the reckless behavior of politically driven "anti-vaccination" Americans who, in most cases, are also trump supporters. Hardly a coincidence. Right now, today, greater Austin's over two million citizens have access to less than half a dozen ICU beds due to those in the area being filled with critically ill Covid-19 patients, almost entirely unvaccinated Covid-19 patients. @MadMax's father couldn't be treated for a serious heart condition (something I am all too familiar with) in Florida because their hospitals are jam packed with the same unvaccinated patients Texas is overwhelmed with. And why? Because both states have governors and legislatures willing to throw their state's citizens "under the bus" in an effort to appeal to and appease Donald trump, as absurd as that may be. You know this is going on. You know what trump is doing. Yet you find arcane columns and articles to support . . . what? I truly don't understand it. I'll add that Max is one of the nicest members on this BBS. Far nicer than I am, or you, or most of us in any of these forums. Consider that food for thought.
The folks that haven't vaccinated come from all walks of life. Many people haven't seen a doctors office in a decade.
People who have been inoculated spread the virus. It is not only those who have not been inoculated that spread it. You seem to be judging that as a destinction between the two groups, when in fact, it is not one. It appears that the only people who are reliably not spreading the virus are those who have had the virus and fully recovered from it, resulting in natural immunity. This is the gold standard of immunity, which is the basis for herd immunity, just like always.
I’m tired of these fake tough guy pretenders to the throne like “Liberal p***y” Abbott who run for the hills at first sign of trouble, unlike the one true lord and savior DJT who caught the fake virus and toughed it out with bleach and tanning bed because it’s all a hoax and the fake virus just melted away by Easter in the summer heat. I heard it on Facebook so this must be true. But Liberal p***y Abbott can win back my vote if he marches into a COVID ward without mask together with his unvaccinated family members (which should be all of them, right?) and personally deliver his thoughts and prayers so the (fake) patients can overcome this (fake) virus. Amen.
There were very few breakthrough infections and spread with Alpha among vaccinated. It's not as rare, but breakthroughs are still not common with Delta. Infected but not vaccinated is a difficult group to follow so there isn't good quality data there, but basic biology said that they contribute to some spread as well. But none of these groups compare to unvaccinated as far as infection and spread.
Abbott needs to wheel his ass into a hospital and help. This is his doing. Bring that felon AG with him.
Nice try... but no, republicans have clearly separated themselves and resisted vaccinations, masks, distancing, and closures. And here we are...
Oh yes there is. I will ask you what is the percentage of vaccinated populace have break through infections?
According to CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, vaccines no longer prevent you from Spreading COVID. She was interviewed on CNN. Video at the link. CDC Director: Vaccines No Longer Prevent You From Spreading COVID Fully vaccinated people who get a COVID-19 "breakthrough" infection can spread the virus to others even if they are not symptomatic, Centers for Disease Control Director Rochelle Walensky told CNN on Thursday. "Our vaccines are working exceptionally well," she said. "They continue to work well with delta with regard to severe illness and death, but what they can't do anymore is prevent transmission."
So you think the 33% of our population which didnt vote overwhelmingly took the vaccines? The numbers dont support that.
@MojoMan trying to distract from his "global warming is a hoax perpetrated by 'warmists' " ipcc anniversary with a "COVID-19 is a hoax vaccines are bad" **** show. Malignant personality
