He could have hit 3 points with 15 boards and I would have been happy. He looked better than Mobley. Christopher definitely needs some work, however.
He looked good with his defensive timing and blocks, but tbh I was a bit underwhelmed with his overall quickness and athleticism. He seemed a bit stiff, rigid, and flat footed imo. Maybe that won't be a huge deal if he plays center. And although I think he's a reasonable athlete, I was hoping for a bit more fluidity in that regard. Hopefully that was just one game, or I misinterpreted what I saw.
This guy is great pick up, wow!! That footwork, the effort, the close outs. He’s going to frustrate a lot of people and will be at the line a ton, since his footwork is truly elite and most NBA bigs cannot even come close so they will be resorted to fouling. Sengun being a solid FT shooter is what makes me truly believe he’s here to stay. LOL at the negativity!
Best highlight of the night This is not normal! Just the balls to even attempt that pass is special, star level creativity. The number of bigs that can do this I count 1 guy in Denver.
he’s got more defensive potential than Scola imo he’s taller and while not great lift it’s more than Luis so he’ll get some blocks. but I’d take a bigger Scola who can block a few shots. Scola was a very nice role player and could really rebound the ball well for his size and had some fun offense with great touch 15 ft and in. if he can be Scola he’ll be a 15-10-2 guy which would be very impressive.
he is different type of player compare to Scola, but I think he will be a better player than Scola in the end
yeah, Sengun needs to work on his shooting skill, but he can play tough also can pass well. D-Mo really could have been sth if he had been given more mins.
One of Sengun's strengths highlighted in scouting reports is his ability to get to the free throw line. It looks like it's on full display tonight.
He reminds me of a Jeff Bezos version on Montrezl Harrell. Their games are different enough, but that kind of hustle, effort, and offensive creativity is there. Sengun can just do way more. If he develops a three point shot, and can shoot it in the mid 30's, he's an all star in a few years, imo.
That's too be expected when you are a 19 year old. It's ok though bc this year is about development not dominance. And let's be honest this is not a league of big men, he can do this against half the teams out there.
I was impressed with his game yesterday. weaknesses to be sure but I saw a lot of hustle, desire and potential.
He got 15 boards and 15 points in the paint off some tango ish and closed out on 3 point shooters. There's nothing flat-footed and rigid about that.
How did Stone pull this off? He’s hit on Tate and now Sengun! Sleeper acquisitions that caught other GMs slipping. let the Stone Age begin!
