When he lost control of his splitter he was meat, I'd guess that was fatigue but who knows. He sure looks like early season Stanek again, recently.
The best we've got as a utility infielder (A's waived him, we claimed him, he's Robel Garcia's replacement)
I feel great too (could be the bourbon and ribs) but I won't be pitching for the Astros anytime soon either.
He's been posting pictures of his summer fun with Kate Upton. I'm sure he is feeling great. When LMJ was rehabbing from TJ in 2019 we regularly saw him in the dugout supporting his team. Guess we're not paying Verlander enough to be around his teammates.
Give Tucker, Brantley, or Yordan a day off. It's really not about my opinion of Meyers, it's about Dusty clearly not playing him out of spite. Nobody goes this long without getting a start, nobody.
Agree, I have mainly been thinking Dusty is probably a pretty good man just a very poor manager, it’s starting to look like he may just be a piece of ****
No not really this. Baseball is totally different from football with one game a week This entire situation just reeks of WTF. Myers was brought up after moving or starting centerfielder because the general manager said the kid is ready and just needs a shot. Now he is the only guy on the team who hasn’t got a start since that day. Any momentum he had at the plate from AAA is gone. The last thing we really need on a playoff team (assuming) is a rookie backup with basically zero experience in the bigs. If he is going to be on the playoff roster the kid needs some action
Not really, Dusty knows he won't get fired this season, and he knows he's gone this offseason. It's not like anybody can say with confidence playing Meyers makes the team better (and Chas has been fine), so he can always just fall back on that. But Click certainly wanted to get some looks at Meyers versus MLB pitching. He doesn't have to start every game, but a damn game every now and then isn't asking a lot.
