Shams - Philly offered Simmons/Thybulle + draft compensation. Did we make the right deal?

I would trade Wall and 4 1st picks for Simmons. Also I will play him at the 4 or 5.

This lineup would be tough on the low. I would try to develop Ben Simmons free throw accuracy and have him attacking the paint for the most part. If he can make his free throws he will be unstoppable down low. Ben Simmons is a light-skin version of Giannis. A big that can do it all except shoot. The pick n rolls with Ben and KPJ/Green would be very hard to stop. Also, pick n rolls and pick n pops with Simmons and Wood would be extremely tough to defend. One more thing, that lineup would be really fast too.

 

Ooooooo-kei… That’s pretty bad that it’s out there, regardless of whether it’s true or not. Most GMs will be hesitant to be putting their jobs on this line and giving up the farm for what may or may not be a vane, spoiled brat.

If anything it made people like KDs, Bookers, Middletons of the world - players willing to be a little unselfish and take a support role on a team instead of pouting if things are not exactly as they want them - more valuable.

GMs and fan bases just have to adjust to the new reality where players are no longer just their pawns to be sacrificed for the good of the team anymore.

Whatever it was, he had a superstar on the block, he has a contender, and he didn't land him. If TF is mad about how he left, Morey is partly to blame for that too.

 

We can do swaps. I wouldn't add the picks personally but, knowing how D Morey is, he will ask for the picks.

 

I wouldn’t trade wall for Simmons straight up unless Simmons was willing to sit till you can flip him, he’s still good enough to ruin our pick next season which is the only thing that matters

This has become more about dunking on Morey. I like it.

 

In all fairness "young socialite" was not a phrase Simmons used, it came from Jason Dumas of Bleacher Report.

 

I think Ben would improve us on defense the most. Because Ben is an elite player, I think he can speed up the process of this young group becoming winners right away. He fits the timeline of the team. They are all around the same age. Last time I check, you play to win the game. You don't play to loss. We did that last year. Let's get back to winning.

If we could trade for Simmons that would be great, but I do not see it. If we could trade Wall, Gordon, House and 3 draft picks and 2 swaps i would it but Morey want a STAR back.

 

That’s horrific thinking, this is how teams think who’s goal is to be an 8 seed. We do not, with simmons, have a core that’s good enough to compete for titles. Meaningless wins just to feel good is how you get stuck in a hopeless spiral, why would you want that??

 

Giannis also gets u 30+ points on the regular tho…Ben Simmons gives u about half that, and he’s not even in the same tier as Giannis when it comes to shooting which shows just how much work he needs to do…this dude just shot 34% on 73 free throws attempts in the playoffs

 

We won’t we winning any time soon. This is a rebuild. Expect to be bad for at least 3 seasons straight.
