Netflix continuing the strong tradition of bringing you mediocre action movies about cookie cutter badass chicks who you're not sure which team they bat for! Now with Woody!
@Xerobull your post was full of privilege and misogyny. I think what you meant to type was: Spoiler OMG YASSS MY QUEEN!!!!!!
I think Netflix knows what they're doing. From a revenue perspective, it only matters that it's watchable to a lot of people to keep subscriptions. I don't think there's a huge benefit for them to pay for a bunch of great critically acclaimed movies. Mediocre action may be the way to go.
With all of the movies Netflix is pushing out dealing with the same storyline, you'd think they were trying to create their own universe. I'm expecting a Gunpowder Milkshake vs. Kate crossover in Fall 2022.
I couldn't tell it was Winstead from the thumbnail. I can do avenging lady violence and dubbstep for 90 minutes on an existing subscription.
These are always a solid compromise pick with the wife. If shes on the fence about watching an action movie, ass-kicking female lead usually is enough to seal the deal and save me from a night of uptight British people solving murders on Masterpiece Theater on PBS.
This was surprisingly not terrible. In fact, if it wasn’t for some pacing issues it would have been really good. Had a slight blade runner vibe. Very good fight scenes, especially with Yakuza in the back alleys of Tokyo.
I had it on in the background. Had to turn it off completely about 20min in. Random thought. Christopher Nolan needs to do a movie set in Japan. Modern day.
Started slow, then the fights in the tea house and the back alleys were pretty badass. Then it got slow again, then a final battle. Pacing issues but worth a watch if you like action/fight movies. You probably killed the movie before it got good.
Decent movie, better than the milkshake gunpowder crap, action more believable ( given movie standards).
