greed is a terrible thing. Jaylen brown was smart enough to take the sure thing even though he could have gotten more. but what if an injury happened? you should never turn down a contract that will set you up for your entire life. you, your mom and dad, all your kids, and then some. I doubt that he will ever get a contract anything near that. There always new rookies to compete with in the NBA every year. Ferguson is good, but he's not someone that isn't replaceable. and once he loses a little bit of that athletiscm, he won't be as effective.

Call me crazy but I'd do a S&T for Schroder using Eric Gordon. 3 years / $54 million to make the salaries line up. I mean, if the Lakers want to acquire as many former Rockets as possible.....

In fairness to Isaiah, I don't think he turned down a big contract extension, right? I'll give him a pass on making a comment about how he was at the time very underpaid relative to his performance and felt like he deserved a big deal when the time came.

KCP turning down $85 million from the Pistons should be on that list of worst decisions to pass on signing a deal, but he made more of that up than he otherwise would have solely due to the Lakers doing Klutch a favor to curry favor with Lebron.

IT got screwed. He played until his hip was beyond repair, and then they told him to kick rocks.
I don’t think KCP made his money back.
Oladipo, Schroeder, these guys are examples for why taking a small cut in max pay for security is worth it. One injury and you go from valued contributor to albatross.

Did you get enough proof yet? Tillman took over for two years and our team is now the worst in the league and the entire organization around him quit and took jobs elsewhere.

Morey was here for 11 years collecting assets to pull off big trades then Tillman shows up and all of sudden Morey is trading first rounders for Iman Shumpert to save the owner 35 million in luxury tax and you don't think it's coming directly from Tillman? Just look for his quote about how he forced the Westbrook trade on google. It's pretty obvious with a little common sense.

He did the same thing for Les. Les was cheap as well.

He definitely didn't make it back, but I think he'll wind up making something like $50 million or so over the same time period instead of $80 million. That's a bad drop off but not as monumentally bad as it would have been if the Lakers hadn't bailed out Klutch.

Not as obvious cuz our payroll wasn't as high so he didn't have to duck the tax.

lol what if this was all LeBron's doing? Like he knew Schroder wouldn't get anywhere near $84 million on the open market but also didn't want him to take away cap room on the Lakers roster.

"Yo D, I heard Rob offered you $84 million. My advice: don't take it. Know your worth. You'll get a $100 million contract in the summer"

(Parenthetically, Schroeder's agent should go into witness protection)

I'm surprised Dallas hasn't reached out to his agent.

Schroeder is in a tough spot. He turned down a lot of money. He will likely want to showcase himself next year to recoup some of the money he has lost and perhaps teams will not want to deal with sort of headcase.
