Pelicans FO is just desperate enough to do it, but everything they're doing is to keep Zion happy & give him the impression they're serious about building a winning roster. And I doubt Zion interprets a trade for (what's left of) John Wall & his massive contract as a positive move.

They did that trade with the Grizz and got Trey Murphy over Ziaire Williams, who are similar prospects I think they REALLY need a stretch 5 so the only part of that deal I disliked was taking back JV. Expiring Holiday who was gonna jet for 4 1sts was a solid deal too I think we should be patient before judging them, Zion is really young, they got Ingram and a hoard of picks to improve the roster with
I agree he's a positive when he's on the court, but he only played 40 of 72 games last season. Granted, his "hamstring injury" at the end may have been for tank purposes, but I'm willing to bet that teams want to see more from him before considering trades. Hopefully he starts strong as an audition for the rest of the league and gets swapped before game 20. I just don't see him going before the start of the season, though. Also, if he seems rejuvenated, then the number of assets we have to pony up to free ourselves from his contract goes down.

Noel was the starter for most of the season when Mitch went down and was excellent. That's a very good deal
