Christian wants to be here and is a good young player…and he can play with both garuba and sengun (and with the language gap I bet sengun spends a lot of time with rgv anyways) if someone offers a ridiculous offer we can’t turn down? Sure, we have to take it…but short of that, keep the talented guy that embraced the city AND CHOSE TO SIGN HERE over other places he could have gotten similar money you don’t trade a good player because you’re scared of being too good…when we will be bad again anyways Wall and Gordon need to go because they will be in the way of our young guys, but Christian wood is young and not in the way of garuba or sengun
The Rockets do not need to tank. They will be in the lottery next year. If, and that is a big if, the time to trade Wood is next year. If the Rockets get say the 6-9th pick then package Wood to trade up to 1 or 2.
Exactly what I was going to say. Play him another year. Maybe he develops into a cornerstone that we want to keep. If not, package him for a top pick.
Stamina and strength with conditioning is important But I don't blame the trainers or coaching schemes I blame the Rockets running an offensive scheme that requires screeners and not having decent screeners. Running a defensive scheme with a bunch of 6'3" players. This is why I got into it with Yoyo. Telling me a team full of 6'3" players can play stellar defense in the NBA. Bring in any well know defensive coordinators to the Rockets and the first thing they say will be get me longer players that can defend. These shrimps are going to get their behinds handed to them by every team. If the Rockets can't control the paint against any team.....then all of the missed 3's will end up long rebounds. Usually leading to fast breaks and 30 point deficits. And the Rockets had a ton of missed 3's as they were one of the worst 3-pt shooting teams. What may appear to be poor conditioning may actually be crappy 3-pt shooting and an inability to rebound
And I could care less who agrees with me and who doesn’t... We should be looking to really attack after 2023 I just think he serves a better value being traded right now and bringing in future draft compensation while also giving us a better percentage chance to land one of the top 4 picks next year I want to be good for a long time not a flash in the pan
And half the people that don’t agree with me, don’t really understand basketball so I don’t value your opinion in the slightest Now there’s several on this board and in this thread that don’t agree with me and I really respect their opinions so it’s not all of you But alot of are you a pretty Ignorant when it comes to actually building a team
If we ran off all our veteran players, we'd be tanking for the next 5-7 years. I don't want to wait that long.
That’s not true at all... What veterans? Wall doesn’t make a difference Gordon and Wood Are the two that have value and we Should trade Hypothetically if we could draft another star over the next two years Veterans will come here
If we try to start winning right now we’re gonna get stuck in no mans land every year getting bounced out in the first round and getting the 15th pick
That’s not how it works... And he’s never going to be a corner stone player- He’s not even going to crack the top 30 Teams do not trade the first or the second pick in the draft for a late lottery pick and a top 30 player
Really?? Because last January I wrote a post when we were above 500 saying that we needed to be the worst team in the league and everybody laughed at me... And guess what and yes it was a coincidence but the day I wrote that post we went on like a 12 game losing streak Don’t tell me I don’t know what direction this team is going
