It’s a team option. That was part of the draw. Ou can trade him before the guarantee date to a team that needs to clear cap space … and that team wound not pick up the option. You can get a KPJ like player this way (obviously unlikely but same idea … young player the team might have given up on or doesn’t need as much) or a future pick while taking back salary.

If he played even remotely okay I could have seen us being able by o flip him for a 2nd, but it’s probably just declined

Would rather spend the money on an upside guy like THT.

I really hope the Rockets don’t give Kelly a big or long contract

Thanks - much appreciated. I was REALLY hoping it wasn't a player option, where he opted in. We've got a glut of guards...

Can we trade him for SRP at draft time?

Wasn't there some report about Bradly being a good veteran for the younger guards/wings to learn from?

I mean it's not like he will get a lot of court time if he is even on the roster. If he can help off the court even a little bit and potentially be an expiring contract during the season, it may be worth it.

I was hoping he might interest the Knicks for a SRP.

Maybe Celtics would like a reunion.

They seem to be short on guards at the moment.

    Avery Bradley,
Sorry but he needs to find another team! He is beyond his good years and isn't good enough for our Rockets.
We need the space and the money! Yetti

Why the hell wouldnt he be retained and then traded for a draft pick or something?

I remember when we used to cream ourselves thinking about him in his early years on the Celtics. He was touted to be the perfect fit with Harden.

We wind up getting him after all these years, and he was less impactful then Bobby Brown

“What if we retain him and can’t trade him and we’re left stuck paying him $5.9M?”
