Hurt will never be a good defender, no matter how effective the coaching. Effort may be there but lacks every tool on that side.
He can't be signed. He tweeted after the draft that his euro contract stated that he couldn't sign as an udfa, only if he was selected. That's why he was so disappointed at not being drafted (even posted a broken heart emogee). Maybe next year.
He can be signed as a UDFA afaik. It's still a guaranteed contract. He cant be signed as a 2 way for someone reason, but unless his contract directly states he should be 2nd round then I dont get why he cant sign as a UDFA. It's still the same situation next year he is still an undrafted free agent who will need to sign a deal with someone.
While good three point shooting is always needed, and oHurt might be able to eke or a 9th man ole in the nba for years because of that… the Rockets now need less offense and more defense.

Don't really know this guy. But from the highlight clips, he looks VERY slow. His release is slow. How is he going to get his shot off in the NBA if the defender is not 10 ft away from him?

He's tall and shoots the ball high above his head with limited motion. In his clips you can see he is comfortable shooting with guys right in his face. His shooting isn't the concern though. Hes not an nba defender. Maybe if he becomes more disciplined and gets pro strength and conditioning he can become an ok defender or whatever is a step above horrid.
