Hahaha. I tried to go to bed last night listening to the interview and was incredibly annoyed listening to Stone talk. Can Tilman pay a course of Toastmasters for this guy?!?!
1. 18-19yr old kids, are quick learners 2. even in turkey league, there are many players from states, i believe they use jargon quite a lot 3. yao did that, dunt worry
Depends on whose hes playing with. On defense he only needs to know the words “switch” and “oops, my bad”.
A simple Google search of "is English widely spoken in Turkey" would have easesd OP's concern. Probably have not heard of Asik either. Is the minute over?
Stone may need public speaking lessons, poor guy. But I caught that Cheshire Cat smile whenever Alperen's translator was answering. Dude is def one of us. And Jaygup is going to be a media darling, he brings same energy in answering questions as he does on a fast break.
Her Twitter profile says she’s a Euroleague reporter and TV, Radio personality. So, not a pro translator like Colin Pine. He probably just feel “comfortable” having her around.
His translator says what she wants. She usually translates what Alperen says in half. For example, in the interview after the draft, Alperen mentioned that he liked some players by giving name. But she did not translate them. She didn't translate a few things at the meeting either yesterday. I don't know if she translates exactly what asks or says to Alperen, but she certainly does not fully translate what Alperen said.
Yes, she is a TV reporter. Absolutely that's true, she is not a professional translator. It's good to she travels with Alperen, keeps him company during the adaptation to the city. I think he will work with a more professional translator after he joins the team.
