    thanks for the insight.

Great read Clutch. I like each of the picks individual (except perhaps Christopher), but I love the combination. All four being the same age and having a strong mix of front and back court, defensive and offensive strengths, and college/AAU and European training. Mix in KJM and Tate to add wings and KPJ to run the point and it is a terrific mix of players who can grow together. Then we have plenty of picks going forward, including a likely high one next year, and then massive cap space potential.

one year ago at this time we had two disgruntled stars, no young players, no picks, and no cap space.

    It’s an amazing turnaround.

First page! Nice read, pretty much agree with most of it.

Green: his potential has been discussed on this board at great length. I was a Mobley guy but always recognized that Green was a talent with potential to be an elite scorer. Hopefully the rest falls into place. Ride or die with JG!

Sengun: Hoping he is more Domantas Sabonis than Enes Kanter. Honestly though, Kanter is a double-double guy off the bench which is of value. Sabonis, however, is a 20/12 guy at 24 years old so here's hoping Sengun is closer to that.

Garuba: Love his defense, hoping his hustle results in some easy baskets on lobs and in transition if the jumper never comes around. Will be nice next to Wood or Sengun I think.

Christopher: Really wanted him at 23 or 24 if Mobley was the guy at 2. Will be a problem against backups as a 6th man microwave scorer. I think he'll thrive in that role eventually. Probably will spend some time at RGV to get his feet wet and work on his jumper. Never considered him the defender Stone played up but I think he was a good value selection at 24.

Stone’s stones. Rockets had an awesome draft. They wanted Sengun and found a way to grab him. Garuba gonna D it up. J “Green’s friend” C will step in where we’ll lose some combo of Nwaba-Sterling….

    Yeah, time for optimism here.

Good stuff. I’m super excited with the pics and what follows. Hoping a few of the young guys can grow together and be great one day. The Rockets future is looking much brighter.

All this in a year that started with worries about having no picks at all.

    How sweet it is!

Clutch, you alluded to your concern that Stone Picked Christopher because he was buds with Green. Any clarity on that?

What really sold me on Alperen was that we kept 23 and 24. I didn't want to waste a single drop of draft picks in this years' draft... and we didn't. We sopped up an extra pick in a talent loaded draft. Uh... WINNING.

    The Alperen Sengun quote:
“You guys can do the research on people who have had that level of success at a high level of pro basketball,” said Stone. “It’s a short list… and a good one.”

The list I'm assuming means young players from European leagues who dominated and won MVP:
    1. Luka Doncic
    2. (maybe he was 22) Nikola Mirotic
    3. Danilo Galinari was 20
    4. Marc Gasol was 23
    5. Manu Ginobli was 25
    6. Arvydas Sabonis won Mr. Europa in 1985 as a 21 year old

I really think he meant teens who won MVP in European leagues and that list is one deep: Luka.

Me too, I've come around after seeing more videos of him and his interview with Schmitz.
I did notice his high IQ from the very beginning. Conditioning should make things a bit easier for him. Go Alperen! Go Houston Rockets!

I think Clutch nailed this one, especially concerns about both Sengun and Christopher. Honest and fair grade and review.Let’s see how it all plays out, we have a few years of drafts and plenty of big men on the board next year too.

Will be interesting if Garuba comes over, how he will fair, how Sengun adjusts and how much playing time and which lineup they will be a part of. Great luxury to have in any case.

all this time i've viewed green as a potential all-star, somewhere in between eddie jones and zach lavine

but after just watching this highlight video, in particular the drive at the 0:29 mark.... i can sort of understand the kobe/mj hype now...

green doesn't have the massive hands, crazy ego, determination, or possibly bball IQ of mj. but from an athletic, quickness and body control standpoint, there's been few players over the years with this sort of next level other worldly talent

stone was right. his first step is as good as anybody's in the league. second, third too. he's sick. he can be as great as he wants to be.
