If Okafor had the brain, heart and will of Sengun, he might be a monster too.

@D-rock Just wanted to know your thoughts on Sengun as an “Offensive Hub” similar to how you described Mobley on that end.

I keep envisioning him hitting Green, KP and KJ on back door cuts like Pau.

Was trying to think of a legitimate floor for Sengun and Okafor seems like a reasonable floor at first glance but you are right about his maturity issues, injuries and also his lack of motor if I remember Okafor correctly. The good thing about Sengun which raises his floor is his high motor for such a skilled big. I have some comps below regarding his floor and ceiling and curious what others think.

Still think Damontas Sabonis is the best and most reasonable comp but tempted to put that as his ceiling as anything more than Sabonis would be impressive. There is a chance of an in between between Sabonis and Jokic but obviously he is a unique player and they sky is the limit. Another player to consider is Pau Gasol but I like that Sengun's floor is a lot lower than most people think given his dominance in a top league, solid motor, rebounding anticipation, ability to affect shots vertically, and all around improving offensive game.

    Floor: Enes Kanter
    Mid: Jusuf Nurkic/Damontas Sabonis
    Ceiling: Jokic/Kevin McHale combo

Absolutely he can be an offensive hub.

Notice his own comments of wanting to initiate offense like Jokic.

Smart AND skilled players are my favorite.

If only he could switch 1-5 too.

But if he did, he would have been top 5 pick.

Is this girl going to be translating the plays to him during timeouts?

    Hello everyone!

As a Beşiktaş fan, after Houston drafted Alperen last night, I will support Houston from now on of course. The first NBA item I owned as a kid was a T-Mac T-shirt. So, I'm not that far from Houston. :D Also, Ömer Aşık, who I love very much, played there for years and I wouldn't miss his matches. Life brought another Turkish big man to Houston, this time. Moreover, that one has much more potential than Aşık and is a star candidate.

I will not tell you what kind of player this boy is. You probably didn't even know about him until he was selected. Or you weren't interested because you didn't think he was coming to Houston. After he was selected, you opened and watched his highlights and read his profile analysis. You were excited by what you saw and read. All I can tell you is that this kid's future may be much brighter than you think. I'm talking about this 18-year-old young man who wreaked havoc in Europe's one of the top three leagues. Yes, this boy is 18 years old, along with other 19-20 year old teammates, he carried his team to the play-off semi-finals against Anadolu Efes, the Euroleague champion. I'm not doing macronationalism. I do not favor him because he is from my country. I say this as someone who has watched this boy on court many times and as a staunch Beşiktaş fan. This boy will give Houston much more than was thought and imagined.

I know you are all very excited about Jalen Green right now. I know he's the player you all look forward to the most because you picked him in second place. Maybe you have been dreaming of choosing it for a year. That's normal because he's a great player. But I can assure you that this guy who quietly came to Houston will do just as well (maybe much better).

I hope the Houston Rockets will have a great season and Alperen will be a part of it. Sending my love and greetings to all of you.

    Welcome to this forum Sengun.

I have been negative on Sengun; as I am Leary of any Big Man coming
into the NBA after seeing Andre Drummond look amazing coming out
of highschool prior to college ball.

Somewhere along the way, big men tend to lose a little something-something
in translation. I fear Sengun may be a tad slow for the NBA....but hopeful that
this will not be the case.

Here is to bright days ahead for the Rockets, Hurah!!!

I really need the rookies to pick their jersey numbers already. That Sengun jersey is going to be tempting.

I kinda want to see them against NBA big men before I get excited......I heard Garuba did pretty good
    against KD the other day.

    I need to see it
