The first two trades focused on 2021. The third is focused on 2022+.

The answer is yes. Might also be why Dusty put Tucker in CF when Click had just said they wouldn't. Little passive aggressive by Dusty!

I don't know whether this move will work out or not, but this is the type of move confident organizations make, and I love that.

I don’t get this move. Seems unnecessary. The only thing I can think of is that Yordan asked to be in the field more?? Even still, just bench straw? Nope. I can’t rationalize this.

They think our CF in AAA and McCormick are better options and Straw had some trade value.

    It's not complicated

I hope this Maton deal is a Pressly type deal. Do your thing Strommy.

I like it, because Dusty was going to start Straw over someone that is clearly better.

In fact, I like all of these trades because Dusty won't be able to use certain people who hurt the team anymore.

This is so mixed for me.

I was just beginning to like Straw...

Hard to not get excited about the new Jake though. But can he be trusted in October, even if he performs well in the interim?

Will Chas get exposed playing full time? Or will we have multiple CF rakers?

So why not bench straw? Are we really counting on this guy we got back?

I am really disappointed. Back in mid-May, if we had stuck a fake nose on Straw and changed the name on the back of the jersey, Click would have won executive of the year for finding this young phenom. Now we trade him for what looks to be an average middle reliever, I'm afraid the award is loser of the day.

Wait - 61 strikeouts in 41 IP (and 20 walks, moan), and 32 K in 20 IP last year. That's intriguing . . . Maybe those awards are all a little premature.

Not counting on him… yet. Just like they didn’t count on Ryan Pressly or Will Harris till they did.

Straw had a semblance of trade value and I now get the sense that if he was on the roster, Dusty was going to start him no matter what Click suggested, thus why he felt compelled to move him now.

Now Click vs. Dusty is a new sub-plot that could get interesting. Pretty sure the lineup out there tonight is all Dusty’s decision.

Straw and Toro were chemistry and glue guys. Hope this doesn't affect us long term.

I think this is an underlying reason for the trade. Indirectly force Dusty to play Straw and Raley less. Not speculating any friction between them but who knows. Weird moves force fans to overthink at times

They filled in admirably during injuries and no other options… much like Mike Fiers did for the 2017 rotation prior to the trade deadline.

In the end, Toro was unlikely to be on a playoff roster with Bregman/Diaz. Straw’s defense, while miles improved, wasn’t necessarily enough to warrant playing a sub .650 OPS player every single day as much as Dusty was playing him… and guys like that tend to get even further dominated in the playoffs.

I don't understand this Straw trade. Speed is not a skill you can develop, either you have it, or you don't. I hope this isn't the end, but this trade is thumbs down for me.
