I dont get this on its own. Maton is very average. Maybe below average.

Does getting a catching prospect mean one we already have is going somewhere?

I would really love to understand how a middle reliever with pedestrian numbers is worth your everyday starting CF. I was all for upgrading Straw and getting him out of this lineup, but it needed to be for a known commodity.....not Jake Meyers. I'm baffled by this.

Why are we trying to "get creative" right now?? We're in the middle of a title run, we're not floundering below .500. It just doesn't make any sense. Like how does the clubhouse feel? It certainly can't instill confidence that this FO is doing everything they can to win when you ship off your more than capable everyday CF and tell them their outfield anchor will be a combination of rookies and/or something "creative" like Tucker.

    It's just perplexing.

Perhaps we are expecting a CF buyout from some team?

Chaz has started 10 games in CF. Played CF in 13 games total. 86 1/3 innings in his career.

I don't know about this trade and how it effects the team chemistry.

And while I know some of these teams ended up giving up a lot, it can't be all that comforting for our guys to see the White Sox, Red Sox, Yankees, Blue Jays, A's, Giants, Padres, and Dodgers ALL make splashy moves that bring swagger into their clubhouses. I don't care what anybody says....there's a hit to the psyche when you see that.

What happens if Meyers fails at this level and or chazzy fizz gets injured?

I trust their decision, but I would like to point out that many of our current studs struggled heavily when they were either first called up to the major league or during their first playoff appearances.

    Bregman. Tucker. Alvarez.

The latter two - I remember not being excited when they were called up to the batter box during the playoffs.

Getting Graveman is a huge boost! Yes today can be upsetting, but if you look at the whole picture, Graveman and Garcia are 2 closers who are now on the roster and the Astros didn’t give up a lot for them.

I don't disagree that both Graveman and Garcia are good pickups. I just think there's not going to be an endless number of opportunities to remove the bad taste of 2017 from the organization's mouth, and this year is a golden one. Seeing all the other teams I listed go out and get their guys is absolutely disappointing. It's not like the Astros are far and away the best team in the AL this year. And in fact, the years that they were, they went out and got Justin Verlander and Zack Greinke!

And here we go, just when I ran my mouth and said I was happy with the moves so far James Click gets way too ****ing cute and ***** the bed. You know Click, sometimes the better thing is to just do nothing.

Maton is a complete scrub. I dgaf about his ****ing spin rate!!!!! This trade is essentially a “sell” move, not a move that a team contending for a WS makes. Just absolutely ****ing ridiculous.
