Nothing you can do about Max wanting to go to the coast, and seems like Marte’s cost was way too high. Out of all the deals completed this far, these are the only 2 guys that I think would have made a major difference for us. Still have some guys out there today that can help, though.

Seems like a lock IMO for the Padres to go get Berrios, Preller won’t sit and do nothing… although he won’t be able to match what the Dodgers did. I still hope we can grab Buxton.

Most of what's left out there are gappers offering minimal improvement which would push us a little over the CAP. We went for the below CAP improvements and appear to have missed out on the Big impact player worth busting the CAP for. Kimbrel, Bryant and Buxton seem like longshots though a deal for both Kimbrel and Bryant might actually make more sense than either individually.
Click did a solid job. We don't need to break the luxury tax limit unless it was a guy like Mad Max. Would like to try and get a solid centerfielder. How much is Yordan Alverez going to play this week vs Giants and Dodgers? Be nice to have Bryant in center to offset the power shortage when Yordan is sitting.
I think a realistic blockbuster with the Cubs could look something like: Astros get: OF Kris Bryant RP Craig Kimbrel Cubs get: RHP Hunter Brown RHP Bryan Abreu OF Jake Meyers RHP Enoli Paredes
Kimbrel wasn't that great last couple of years. He is awesome this year. But I would be concerned paying him 16 million next year and he goes back to his 2019-2020 form. I think Paredes and Abreu are going to be solid. Like to see them on the team next year. Maybe we can resign gravemen for much cheaper then Kimbrel.
