and that is why Detroit is annoying AF…pretending like it hadn’t been Cade this whole time… Cade was a lock at #1 from day 1
I would bust a gut if Pistons draft Green #1 overall and Mobley taken 2nd by Rockets. Cade "only care about being 1st pick" Cunningham falls to CLEVELAND! Crazy!!!!
the entire draft is whether or not a player reaches their alleged potential and if it fits the team that's taking the chance on them not edwards who is in the league for a year is better than cade fresh out of college
If Detroit still want Green, they likely have an offer from Rockets that they can take & trade him to Rockets. The news that Detroit will pick Cade #1 doesn't change anything.
Cade is also not 6’8”. More like 6’5” or 6’6” with shoes on. He sucks. Jk JG in my mind was the number 1 pick and we will all look back at how fortunate we were to get him. soo glad harden wanted out.
I know, I know it's only one game, but whatever. We'll get to see him up close and personal Tuesday. That said, I just realized who Cade reminded me of watching him play last night's game. D'Angelo Russell. He was the 2nd overall pick in his draft class behind KAT and has made an Allstar game so I'm not trying to bash Cade. I think he may be more of that type of player than the Luka or Jayson Tatum with better passing comps he was getting pre-draft. Especially now that we know he isn't really 6'8 and he has a slighter frame. The lack of burst to get around his man and all the way to the basket and ability to finish above the rim combined with a heavy reliance on the use of floaters and 3 pointers scream D'Lo to me. I think he'll be very reliant on pick and roll. His efficiency in that may ultimately determine his true upside. Let me reiterate, this isn't saying he's not going to be good, Russell is a 20-23 points and 6-7 assists per game type of player and can get hot from 3 and go absolutely crazy, but he is not the heliocentric offensive hub in that Luka and James Harden mold that Cade was being hyped as before the draft. Cade is too good to bust, but I think this may be around where he will settle in at his peak when looking at his physical limitations in combination with the way he plays. We'll see.
Good comp. Both players don't have the burst speed to blow by their defender and that's why I have Jalen higher than Cade. Cade doesn't have the tools to create shots for himself and that will cap his ceiling. He will be a good player, but his ceiling is definitely lower than Jalen and Mobley.
