With several possible contributors from those not on the active roster, I looked for a thread like this. Finding none (which doesn't prove there isn't one,) I'll start one.

This first post is about the return of Alex Bregman. There have been reports and video which don't seem to match from a progress standpoint. Looking at the schedule, I can't see him returning any earlier than the Minnesota series that starts 8/5 and that's with no setbacks or even hick-ups. Even when fully healthy, he'll need to get his plate discipline back before he can help us more than Diaz.

    Thoughts?

Yes, with the return of Bregman, who has all-world capabilities, the line up is about to get much enhanced. I'm looking forward to Baez to the Bullpen, after all he was one of the big prize acquisintions in the off season.

Plus there is Josh James, Urquidy, Verlander who have boat loads of talent and can only strengthen the teams pitching.

Though as Click said, nobody is holding their breath holding out for Verlander, who if he does get back to pitching won't do so until late in the season, or in the playoffs.

Here is a partial list - I know I'm missing some.

Bregman 10 day IL - Rehab assignment with Sugarland
    Scrubb 10 day IL
    Urquidy 10 day IL

James 60 day IR - Rehab with Sugarland
Ivey 60 day IR - Rehab with Sugarland
    Emanuel 60 day IR
    Baez 60 day IR
    Verlander 60 day IR
    Whitley 60 day IR

    Please update with better information.

Only Emanuel, Baez, James, and Verlander are on the 60 day IL.

Putting Whitley or Ivey on the 60 day IL would require putting them on the major league roster and starting their service time

    Thanks.

The Roster I use notes that players on the 60DL are included, even though not on the 40 man roster.

I do see that Baez has had rehab starts at both Fayetteville and Sugarland. I just haven't heard how they went.

I read that Baez's FB is sitting at 90, 5 less than his usual. Not a good sign.

    ETA:
I don't mean to sound like that Baez's career is over. It is just that he may need a couple of weeks in AAA, as his personal spring training to round into shape.

I expect nothing from Baez or Urquidy, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

If as reported Baez is throwing 90 after all this time and Urquidy is ~1 month away from a rehab assignment...

    Paredes almost ready?
[I just read this in another thread that I can't find now]

    Bregman with Hamstring tightness again
    "Chandler Rome
    @Chandler_Rome

Alex Bregman was removed from the Skeeters' game tonight as a precaution due to right hamstring tightness, according to the Astros.

Pedro Leon - Fractured pinky out for 6 weeks"

#Astros say SS Pedro Leon will be out for approximately 6 weeks after fracturing his left pinky finger while sliding into a base on Sunday night for AAA Sugar Land at OKC. Leon stole 2nd base in the 7th inning on Sunday, was replaced by a PH in the 8th & has been out since then."

I heard Bregman had a setback, anybody hear anything about that? How is it going to affect his prognosis back?

There is much conflicting information coming from Sugar Land, so I wouldn't get my hopes up. It ranges from - nothing to see here, just being overly cautious - to - He'll be out for the year.

Pick your poison. I'm going with, "I don't know and don't trust anyone to tell me the truth."

When I saw Breg ran for a double yesterday, I said to myself he’s not ready to join the Astros anytime soon. I hope I’m wrong. Doesn't Trout have same injury? Quad strain.

I don't know what to make of "Raley Roster change" under transactions on MLB. He is not listed on the active roster anymore, but not off the 40 man. But there is no IL, option, DFA or release indicated.

I don't know if the suspension is by MLB or just the Astros. No replacement indicated, so It might be just the Astros and we play with a 25 man active roster.
