For a more recent example you have already cited ... let's take a closer look at last year's champion Lakers: The King (age 35) REG SEASON 67 GP 25.5 PER 9.8 WS PLAYOFFS 21 GP 30.2 PER 4.3 WS versus The Brow (age 26) REG SEASON 62 GP 27.4 PER 11.1 WS PLAYOFFS 21 GP 29.6 PER 4.5 WS Since LeBron missed the playoffs the year before (without Davis) ... And since their production was nearly identical last year, if not slightly better for Davis ... And since Davis is nearly a decade younger ... I'm guessing if forced to pick one or the other, the Buss family will keep Davis and rebuild around him
Or: - he sets a screen up top for Holiday/Middleton, and rolls to the hoop for a lob - he grabs a board, or catches an outlet, and finishes a fast break (has lead the NBA in fastbreak scoring past 2 seasons) - he cuts inside along the baseline and finishes off a nice backdoor pass - he collects on offensive rebound and goes up for a putback - he tries to back down a smaller defender from the low-block You act as if nearly all of his shots are initiated by him attacking from the perimeter off the dribble in ISO or off some kind of his pick/screen action Giannis is not Russell Westbrook ... he is not useless on Offense without the ball in his hands attacking downhill He does his damage in a variety of ways, both as initiator and finisher Attacking off the bounce is his least efficient / effective way to score, since the whole league knows to back off and dare him to shoot outside Can someone please post Giannis' splits as to how/where his points are scored to show this, or point me to a good source so I can?
Nevermind ... found it Giannis 2021 Breakdown by Possession Type: 26.4% - Transition 17.8% - Isolation 13.3% - Post-up 9.3% - Spot-up 8.5% - Cut 6% - P&R Roll 4.7% - Misc 4.1% - Putback 2% - P&R Ball 1% - Off-screen 0.7% - Handoff The 4 bolded above are the only half-court situations where Giannis has the ball in his hands and is 'driving to the hoop' Combined they represent only 21.5% of all Giannis OFF possessions last season Meaning 4 out of every 5 Bucks possessions that involve Giannis, he is doing something other than attacking downhill with the ball Can we now at least agree that 2021 Giannis generates the overwhelming majority of his scoring contributions in other ways? I'm not making this stuff up ... jut simple observation supported by objective data
Here is a link for all you Cavs fans so yall can continue your Mobley fandom over there.... https://realcavsfans.com/
I took a peek and they said this. Randolphkeys said: KPJ's personality issues at USC were well documented. Mobley's father was an assistant coach at the time... now Mobley has sent a message to Houston that he's not dying to join up. 2+2= me likey. Holy ****, I had never thought of that. (Warning: Faulty Logic Ahead...) So by aggressively trading back into the first round to take KPJ only to have the ensuing **** show lead to him ending up with the team that would go on to win the #2 pick, we may have caused Mobley to end up in Cleveland?? Koby out there playing some ****ing 4D chess!!
I've accepted that Green will be the pick if we don't make a trade. GG boys, I'm still a part of the Mobley tribe but I'm all in on Green since he's the incoming franchise star. Intrigued to see how Mobley pans out elsewhere!
Approaching Lin zealot territory. Any comp ppl make in bball chatter from Mobley to SGA. In a future game loss, blame will go to teammates, Silas, and Stone. KPJ didn't pass enough, KMJ took his minutes...etc CF will go back to dark ages.
Mirin is Giannis' biographer. Flew to Greece and everything. Doing other pieces sure, if Evan pans out, maybe a subject for her in the future.
