Westbrook is a terrible player? Dude come-on. Not every player is going to lead you to the finals. There is a lot of grey in between "terrible" and "championship leading". Westbrook has had an extremely successful career and at worst still carries teams to playoff berths most of the time.
There has been a significant decline in his game the past 3 or 4 years when you look at the advanced stats, but he had several extremely productive and transcendent years. Despite his flaws, he will be remembered as a much better player than Jarred Blayless and anybody else drafted after him for that matter. The point was he was not considered a top 5 pick and Troy Weaver and Sam Presti saw something in him, ignored the outside noise and popular opinion, took him, and it turned out to be the right choice.
Yes, he's an outright terrible player, mostly due to being one of the most selfish players in NBA history. Padding his personal stats are not just the most important thing to him, they are the only thing to him. I watched him sabotage the thunder for years, then I watched him do so for the Rockets. He's flashy, and that gets the casuals to soil themselves, but he's absolute cancer to any team he's on.
He's a terrible player? You have really extreme edgelord takes and it seems like it's purely to attract attention.
Cade Cunningham is currently yelling at Barclays employees for not providing him unlimited bottles of Ace of Spades at his table.
It really shouldn't be a controversial opinion after watching him sabotage his team, especially in the playoffs year after year for like a decade now. Some people are just really easily blinded by flash I guess.
Westbrook isn't terrible per se but he's about to be on another team coming soon and Beal is going to ask out, Harden asked out, and PG asked out playing alongside WB. KD never liked him much either so the common denominator is Westbrook. His playstyle is just not translating to wins
He's athletically gifted, which means he potentially could be a good player, but the hollow space between his ears ensures he's terrible at the team game of basketball
Yeah, the way this is worded, I'm on board for the most part. His last season with KD was decent but you could always tell KD was like, Would this guy please quit thinking it's all about his stat sheet?
Yea and father time is undefeated and WB won't be rely on his relentless reckless playstyle anymore. He's just on a steady decline and it's going to be the Lakers issue coming up soon
Westbrook doesn’t have the highest bball iq, but the main thing that limits him from winning is that he can’t shoot well and doesn’t seem to be able to improve it or care to. If he could shoot, even with his play style he would contribute much more to winning.
Weird to call a first ballot Hall of Famer a “terrible player” Former teammates of Russ have spoken of him in the highest regards. But he’s a cancer? Lmao
This thread is exposing those who must have been happy when Harden forced the trade for Westbrook that destroyed the team
LeBron and AD are advocating for the Lakers to acquire Russ right now… But I guess they’re ignorant too huh lol
Among other names. WB does have high octane in his game. When combined with LBJ and AD, lots of things mesh. But they're also asking for CP3, for Beal, for this, for that.
Well, yeah. Harden was dumb enough to do it and they took a championship contender and completely destroyed it with that one move. Lebron and AD are desperate and desperation makes people do stupid things. Westbrook belongs on a lottery team where he can pad his stats and fans will have no expectations of any level of success.
Right but my point is they wouldn’t be asking for him at all if he was as terrible and cancerous as Bobby says lol
