A little to exciting for my liking, especially after last night’s debacle, but a win is a win.

Wow, Stros hung on for the win. I figured Stanek would pitched in the ninth being up by four.

Thankfully they held on. Pressly, don't worry, you're still the closer. No need to be nervous with the Graveman acquisition. But what's with closers coming in a non save situation and struggling?

Also Astros thought bullpen improved but baseball God's were like, not so fast.

Also, not saying Tucker should have had that but dropped balls by him and Jones is screwing up with Pressly's numbers.

We hung on, although that Toro hr should've been caught by Tucker.....

By hitting an easily catchable fly ball?

Woke to see the score notifications on my phone. Saw that Toro hit a HR in the 9th and in my sleepy state thought oh good, insurance runs...oh wait.

Stop scoring 8 runs and nothing more. That number seems to trigger the Mariners offense.

Putting a closer in that situation is just a lose lose situation

Bad for mojo and a total mismanagement of weapons

I went to bed before the game... couldn't deal with it... ROFL so Joe Smith gets an easy 1-2-3 and Toro rocks Pressly for a homer!! Right.

I'm just glad we got the win. Seattle is frisky af right now.

I don't even think it was the NEXT day. I think it is the SAME day.

-edit- Well I suppose both could be true depending on your time zone...

It's better to find out now than in the playoffs. Some closers are affected by it not being close enough and others aren't. Pressly now has another data point indicating he needs the pressure of a close game to be his best self. So we look to another reliever to be the High Leverage/Nail Down non closer.

It's like getting a chance to see how McCullers would react to relieving before having to do it in the playoffs in 2017.

We're also seeing Javier in a shorter relief role before the playoffs. It takes an adjustment on everyone's part to make that move when you've been effective as a starter. Starter to long relief to high leverage takes a series of adjustments mentally and to optimize preparation requirements for the role.

I'm not a big fan of Dusty as an in game manager, but I'd love for him to already be in a comfortable substitution pattern that works before the playoffs.

Pressly was probably due for a bad outing, might as well get it out of the way while we’re up 4. Should be good until sometime mid 22 now.

Winning 2 of 3 against the biggest threat in the division is not a bad thing.
