^ that's from 2 years ago i think... at best Jalen was a high school junior. Why not just do the game he played against KPJ since we have somewhat of a feel for KPs height.
It's not hard to learn to play the right way as a 19 year old rookie. There are no reports out there saying that he is hard to coach. I have concerns about playmaking because that tends to be more of a natural thing but he's shown flashes and seems to know it's a flaw that he needs to work on.
The difference is that Mobley evinces very high IQ. He not just sees the floor at high level but he understands where his teammates and opponents are/need to be positioned as well as anticipates where they will be next. On offense AND defense.
This will be my last response as your replies are just getting more ridiculous. I said I hadn't seen where HE COMPARED himself to Kobe and you post a link where someone else is saying...."He WANTS TO BE compared to Kobe". Good talk.
I posted this a while back in this thread: That's from a little while back too, but next to two guys with good height he doesn't look like a shrimp?
If you knew where green came from and how hard he works then you would be inspired. He’s the most talented Filipino prospect ever. He has a special belief in himself. The way he behaves and conducts himself is that of a top tier competitor. Did you read his media day quotes? He’ll never be complacent. He’s got next.
Can’t really go off a picture from 3 years ago. But the shortest I’ve personally seen him listed as is 6’5. He’s most likely 6’4.5 barefoot and 6’6 with shoes on. Or 6’4 barefoot and 6’5.5 with shoes on.
Green is plenty tall enough. This is really not an issue at all. Defense is about IQ, effort and/or wingspan anyway.
This is, IMO, an example of bad criticism: "This top prospect wants to be compared to one of the greats." Well, duh. I'm sure every prospect dreams of being one of the greats. So far, I've only seen Green say he has looked up to these guys, and these (obviously ridiculous) comparisons have most been driven by the media. It says nothing whether the guy is gonna be put in the work or not. This is, IMO, an example of bad praise: "This top prospect works harder than other top prospect." None of us know how hard each guy works, and how locked in they will be in their NBA life. We just know that they all worked very hard to get here. Re. his height, he looked taller than Edwards here with shoes on. I'm guessing 6'4", maybe 6'5", with a 6'7" wingspan?
Agreed. I have faith in Green improving as a defender. He’ll fight through screens better as he hits the weight room. He has the lateral quickness to stay with his man on ball. Off ball and decision making is mostly film study that’ll come. All NBA might be a reach but if he’s an average or slight above defender in a couple seasons we’re good. If he really wants it I think he can be a two way guard. As far as Playmaking, I think Devin Booker’s career progression as a playmaker is a reasonable expectation.
That someone else was his highschool coach. What’s the difference between wants to be compared and comparing, the point is he is delusional if you are putting his name anywhere 12 feet close to Kobe’s. That doesn’t mean because of this one thing I don’t like him, not sure why you are hanging on to that. I’m much more concerned over his lack of playmaking, low bbiq, poor defense.
I'm Mobley Mob (if we pick #2), but even I gotta say there's a huge difference between present and future tenses. Come on...
“Big bad cxbby keeps comparing me to Jordan Clarkson. He is so wrong. I want to be compared to Kobe instead.” How is that future tense.
