Decided to try them today and.... meh... it's basically their fried chicken in small pieces like I expected. Although I did think they weren't as crunchy, but that just could've been the batch. If you've had the fried chicken, expect more of the same... unless you like the sauces or something. Also to add, I tried Jollibee chicken for the first time a week ago or so and.... I may like their spicy more than Popeye's. The flavor was pretty good. In any case, I think I've hit my fried chicken quote for half of the year. lol.
Not a chain, but Relish has amazing fried chicken. I've been told Loch Bar has good stuff, so I'll come back to give my review on that place. Jollibee is good, but nothing special. Same with Pollo Campero.
Wait? What? That was pretty much the most best side they had. Why would they do away with the dirty rice?
Until they sell them spicy, I'll stick to my regular Popeye's rotation. In a related note, the kid from Buffalo who became a meme by saying... "I mean it's chicken! It's fried chicken! I like fried chicken!" continues to rule the internet and is quoted routinely at the MadMax home.
They were never going to compete with the strips for me plus since the spicy chicken sammy came out that’s pretty much all I get. For 4 bucks you can go wrong.
I don't know what you people expected. They've done these nuggets as a seasonal item for years and they were just smaller strips.
No kidding. Most of their sides are blech. I wasn't a huge fan of the dirty rice, but it was basically the only thing I'd get there if I got a side. Look, man -- I don't know!!!! I even stated as much in this thread, but I was hoping they'd do something different with the spices or the sauces. Like their chicken sandwich was different thanks to the sauce. The sauces they have are worth a try, I guess. I told them to give me 4 random ones and they all tasted decent, but... the chicken was just ... Popeyes chicken. I'll probably stick to Jollibee or one of the many Nashville hot chicken places popping up for my spicy chicken hit or when the fried chicken urge hits a couple of times a year.
These are flat out the worst nuggets I've ever had. The only thing I taste is the breading, its not seasoned at all lmao. Chick Fil A >>>>>>>>>>> Popeyes. Their sandwich is good, but doesn't taste like it did before when they first came out.
