The world is already seriously looking into the lab leak theory. Congress can get into it if they want, but Paul isn't aiming at that. He was politicking. The WSJ doesn't see that he's poisoning the well so much, if Congress does get involved, politics probably will reign supreme. Nevertheless, the sideshow isn't going to cause serious people to suddenly abandon or support the theory more. That serious business includes the US intelligence community which Biden ordered to investigate the origins of Covid-19 pandemic and keep Congress fully apprised of its work.

A friend who is an ER doctor in Austin said that they admitted more COVID patients yesterday than any other day in the last 16 months. All of them were unvaccinated. It's tragic that these people refused a life saving vaccine, that they were convinced they were right to do so and that so many encouraged them for nefarious reasons.

I wonder what would have happened if (1) we were a bit more patient and careful about "reopening" and (2) if more people would have been responsible enough to ignore the political squabble and simply gotten their vaccinations?
