How did they decide on small forward and power forward? Why not forward and small center? Point Guard Shooting Guard Forward Small Center Center "Tim Duncan is the best Small Center in the history of the NBA" "The Small Center position has evolved greatly over the past 20 years"
It's ironic coz PF used to be the 'banger' on the team. The rebounder / bruiser, like Carlos Boozer to Okur. Now Giannis or AD, they slide to the 4, because they want to preserve their body, and let the Center do all the dirty work down low. PF went from power forward to pretty flower.
There should be an overhaul: Point Guard becomes Ball Handler Shooting Guard becomes Scorer Small Forward becomes Defensive Stopper Power Forward becomes Perimeter Big Center becomes Only Talent is Height
Huh… We always referred to “Rim Grazers” as a dunk that barely make it over the rim because the person dunking can barely get high enough and the ball will literally “graze the rim” as it goes in, again because they can just barely dunk. Not even worth a discussion, just wondering if this is something that actually does hold different meaning for people…
Duncan did for the all star votes? Two slots for forward. G G F F C Spurs had euro C's for him after Robinson retires. Francisco Elson, Fabricio Oberto. Later years he did play C, Matt Bonner and Antonio McDyess as PF. McDyess had a jumper but you could say McDyess was a banger PF. Them elbows.
I like that. The only problem is, a lot of ball handlers are also the best scorer on their teams. And some scorers are also defensive stoppers.
I;ll take a crack at it:: 1. Passer/dribbler 2. Shooter 3. Wing/defender 4. Rebounder 5. Shot-blocker/rim protector
