I don't anticipate anything good at the number 2 pick tbh. At least the players around 23 and 24 have done their best. The divas can go wherever they like.

A workout is not going to make an NBA GM swing his preference away from all the research and notes his scouts give him.

If anything it's just a personality test.

Kobe said the same exact thing when he told the league he wouldn't play with any other team but the Lakers.

As far as preferred destinations, going to petty for a bit and drop this for Cade and Evan.

According 2019, for cities greater 100k in population ranked by murder rates.

    63: OKC.
    42: Dallas
    10: Cleveland
    4: Detroit

    HOU not on the list.

    Have a blessed day.

I know he did. It showed arrogance and immaturity. He didn't want to be part of a rebuilding team.

We were lucky to acquire Steve Francis but he didn't behave nicely towards the Vancouver Grizzlies. It's obvious that Evan Mobley doesn't want to play for Houston. He wants to be selected at number 1 without working out for Detroit. Cade has refused to workout for Houston. At least he and Jalen Green have worked out for the Pistons.

If Green decides not to work out for the Rockets, we don't need him either. Ditto for Cade.

They don't give a damn, neither does Suggs. Green might change his mind too. It's possible his interest in Houston is decreasing.

From what I gather, Mobley's dad, not his agent, is the one making his refuse workouts with Houston. And after dealing with the Harden situation, why would you draft someone that doesn't want to play here if it's a close call? Green is the pick.

Dumb question: If Mobley wants to be the #1 pick, why did he decline to work out with Detroit?

we'll be fine. draft the BPA and if he doesn't want to be on this team he just turned himself into a trade chip. whatever happens we should be thankful that we are in this position (#2) to begin with.

You don't like my selling pitch? Come to HOU, statistically, you're less likely to get murdered. :p

    He's polite at least.

I don't think it is any more complicated than the fact that Mobley seems to be a pretty shy, mild-mannered, and quiet kid. Doesn't mean he won't be a good basketball player, but he seems to be the most non-alpha mindset guy you could imagine (obviously I can't know too much from the outside, but I think most interviews/reports point to this pretty unanimously). You can be soft-spoken and still great (Tim Duncan), but it isn't any surprise that he doesn't want to talk to strangers any more than absolutely necessary.

Maybe he wants his kid to be away from a big market city so that he won't have a lot of pressure to succeed. From a parenting POV that's understandable; from a basketball POV he's pretty much writing a career suicide note for his kid by letting him put on a Cavaliers jersey.

Yeah. It's just weird that he said he wanted to be the #1 pick but refused to take the opportunity to impress the team that is picking #1. This is especially true that he is not predicted to be the #1 pick by most of the projections out there. So what does he has to lose other than time?

That personality test is important. It's not a formality. That goes for everyone.
