LOL. Stop being so sensitive....... It's literally in the scouting reports how skinny he is..... It's just Trump like thinking to believe Mobley is going to gain the strength needed in just one training camp..... It will take Mobley a few years to get his body right just like most young draft picks.
You are taking a truth - Mobley is undersized and may struggle defending post against the outsized 5's in the NBA - then extrapolating a lie. No scout, ZERO, has said that Mobley will be UNABLE to rim protect. Rim protection efficiency is more than just defending a handful of traditional bigs in the post. Either you are ignorant about basketball to the nth degree or you are blatantly trying to speak a lie into existence. This is another of your desperate attempts to use a sliver of truth to propagate falsehoods. You are a liar and I hold liars in contempt.
Mobley will be an effective weakside shotblocker and probably an effective perimeter defender day 1. He probably will also be a plus from a drop perspective. BUT there will be times where he loses individual plays because of being outmuscled. That may happen fairly frequently but there are ways to prevent it.
1 - I see Mobley as a cerebral, reserved version of Kevin Garnett ... ultimate team-first superstar that puts winning above individual accolades 2 - As a PF, I think he will instantly become the cornerstone of an elite DEF team and will anchor it for at least a decade, winning multiple DPOY awards along the way Those 2 components of the Duncan comp make sense to me In almost every other way, they are night and day IMO Much like Duncan, KG and even ADavis, I believe Mobley would thrive best in a Spurs-like organization To me, the stability of those Spurs was always Pop The heart of those teams was always Manu Timmy was the rock, but he needed Pop's leadership and Manu's cojones to win rings On his own, Mobley is not the guy to get you to contender status in a vacuum But surrounded by an Alpha scorer and a strong leader coaching ... Mobley can be that rare superstar that willingly bends his game to become whatever his team needs on a given night to win Those are the most rare type of superstar They dominate in ways that are so hard to quantify in a box score Kids with that much natural talent are almost never developed this way
One organization’s opinion. Agree or disagree, but it’s a solid read. Not all negative. Was also complimentary of Mobley on one of the top center prospects in recent years.
Extrapolating a lie? LOL. You can disagree with the "projection" but no need to call it a "lie" . And no one said that..... You are so sensitive you didn't notice he said "from day 1"? You're right, which is why I think Mobley will be more a weak side rim protector. You are quite possibly the most sensitive poster on here.
Interesting but not very convincing. This same executive, the only one interviewed in entire article, goes on to support his stance by comparing Mobley to a PF. Offensively, the exec said Mobley does remind him a little bit of former Raptors and Heat big man Chris Bosh, “though obviously not nearly that accomplished yet.” Superficial comparison obviously. Other than body type similarity, what is it about Bosh's game that compares to Mobley's? Mobley plays more like a 7 foot Bam with much more offensive upside.
Your "projections" are BS and you know it. Own up to it, you twisted legit scouting reports to support a false narrative. The consensus is that Mobley's rim protection will translate to the NBA from DAY ONE.
I can agree with those, though I think my projection of Mobley's ceiling is lower than yours seems to be. I think of Mobley as the guy who completes a contender, rather than the guy around whom the contender is built.
My main issue with that article is the author - Sam Amico. I think of him as a guy who makes **** up. IMO he partially owes his career to people mistaking him for Sam Amick, who is a legitimate reporter.
Exactly Their physical similarities are obvious, but are relatively misleading as an overall player comp Bosh made his name coming up w a faceup scoring game He didn't become a 2way versatile big until LBJ & Wade made him in MIA Mobley is almost an inverse prospect skill-wise His glaring weakness was Bosh's top strength He shines now in ways Bosh didn't bother to in Toronto
ESPN saying Mobley is Unicorn big. Woj saying Mobley could be best player in this draft. Perk saying Mobley ready to play NOW. GM Sam Presti believes Mobley is the new modern NBA 5. Not some anonymous NBA executive - Presti put his name on this. https://www.si.com/nba/thunder/draft-coverage/evan-mobley-is-a-center-built-for-todays-nba
Huh? What's desperate? Dude's a skinny pogo stick you compared him to Giannis and Kevin Durant how much damage did those 2 do in the paint during their rookie year? Wtf! If Mobley becomes a potent force in the paint day 1 he would be the best big man since Tim Duncan. Correction he would be even better as TD spent years in college before going to the NBA.
Which informed basketball people say Mobley will make an instant impact day 1? Can you show me links or quotes saying he will be an instant impact contributor in the NBA? What I've people say he is a project.
