Nice find and nice little story with MJ telling him his slippers were whack and got him a pair. Adidas must have made a better offer than Jordan Brand, but his reaction to how much he loves MJ, you see where he gets his in air contortion and hangtime style. If he thinks MJ is the GOAT but he wants to be compared to Kobe, that must mean he doesn't believe anyone can be better than MJ. Smart kid. I can't wait. Please don't mess this up Tilly.
Mock Draft Mike Schmitz, Woj, Kendrick Perkins MS: It’s the depth of this draft, especially in the top 5. … In a normal year, each guy is a normal number one pick. I do believe this draft has a chance to rival the 2003 draft. Maybe not as many HOFers but still strong. Perk: Rockets need to get this right like old people need soft shoes. Porter/Green could be a miniature version of Tatum/Brown. Excited for Rockets. They should take Jalen Green. Woj: Teams would like to trade up. At 9/10(Kings/Pelicans), if teams are willing to take on salary(Bledsoe/Hield/Bagley), that’s a chance for teams to move up. Mike Schmitz making the picks. 1. Pistons - Cade Cunningham 2. Rockets - Jalen Green has to be the pick. Incredible upside. Absolute springs. Think Zach LaVine. 3. Cavs - Evan Mobley. Evan Mobley not your typical big. Just scratching the surface. Fits that unicorn big we talk about. 4. Raptors - Jalen Suggs. One of the most competitive players. Not afraid of bright lights. Love what he brings on defensive end. Reminds me a little of Jrue Holiday. 5. Magic - Scottie Barnes. Have to love his versatility. New age Draymond. The people’s champ. 6. Thunder - James Bouknight. Certified bucket. Is he a sixth man like Jordan Clarkson or Devin Booker? 7. Warriors - Jonathan Kuminga 8. Magic - Josh Giddey 9. Kings - Franz Wagner 10. Pelicans - Moses Moody 11. Hornets - Corey Kispert 12. Spurs - Alperen Sengun 13. Pacers - Davion Mitchell 14. Warriors - Ziaire Williams 15. Wizards - Usman Garuba 16. Thunder - Keon Johnson 17. Grizzlies - Trey Murphy III 18. Thunder - Jalen Johnson 19. Knicks - Kai Jones 20. Hawks - Cam Thomas 21. Knicks - Chris Duarte 22. Lakers - Jared Butler 23. Rockets - Sharife Cooper 24. Rockets - Isaiah Jackson 25. Clippers - Day’Ron Sharpe 26. Nuggets - Joshua Primo 27. Nets - Tre Mann 28. Sixers - Quentin Grimes 29. Suns - Bones Hyland 30. Jazz - Jaden Springer
I just don't want to be the one that drafts Darko. Some of the other players going late are going to have really good careers too.
Don't worry, his interference would be pushing for the flashy hype machine pick that will make him money even if it doesn't lead to wins. Fertitta will ensure Green is the pick.
I actually meant more along the lines of trading the pick for a win now move, or trading down for future assets and shedding salary at the same time.
Both Mobley or Green aren't going to lead to wins for a few years. If you're not expecting and hoping for another top 3 pick next year, then you're setting yourself up for disappointment, because that's the quickest way to winning.
There's more money in selling flashy bs to casuals. That's why Green was always going to be the pick.
Well we might never know if Mobley was the right guy in this situation because Cleveland is the perfect recipe for Mobley to bust.
I expect his talent to win out, but he'll likely have to wait till he's a free agent to do any winning. Green has a nice situation here being KPJ's sidekick, possibly off the bench unless they can dump Wall. No one will expect anything from him but the occasional highlight dunk. The team is set to once again be the worst in the league, so we'll see if they take the draft more seriously next year.
No worries. You'll get your big in Holmgren or Banchero next year and they can be Greens sidekick as Green comes into his own. Hey, you never know if Mobley one day in the future wants to play with Green because it's usually bigs who leave their team to join up with money making perimeter stars.
Not sure if this was posted elsewhere, but Schmitz seems to do all the prospects justice. Also some Barnes and Kuminga info for those interested.
It's funny that you talk about Green as if he'll be more than a 3rd option at best on offense and the worst player on the team defensively. You should adjust those expectations or you're seeing yourself up for disappointment.
I honestly have no clue what your deal with Green is and you certainty of his failure. Like what happened? With your posting history, you have this habit of doubling down on to a stance where it becomes absurd.
What happened was I took a much closer look at him after initially being impressed with the flash. I wanted to find the substance behind the flash and instead I found nothing beneath the flash but more BS. If I end up wrong about him, great, but until I see reason to believe I'm wrong, it is what it is. I mean, how does a legitimate top prospect end up being a net negative in the G league?
What is up with your hubris in assuming you are the only one who took a close look at him? Are you suggesting that one cannot have a close look at him and come away with a different take?
I think Green might be the most dynamic 2guard prospect since Harden. With that said don't expect a ton of wins next season. Green could very well be the leading rookie scorer and win ROY but don't expect a ton of wins next season which is another reason NOT to trade next year's pick. This will be at least a 3 year rebuild. Patience is key. Green will also need to put on additional muscle but the Rockets have time to be patient here.
