Lol then you are wrong, you take the guaranteed Bradley Beal over the unknown all day everyday.

Look if I gave you a choice between 800k usd or a check that can contain anywhere between 400k-1M what would you take? Most people would take 800k and call it a day.

Depends on what consider a unicorn but Wiseman was seen as a possible unicorn predraft, people said he was a center who was agile enough to guard guys on the perimeter, quick enough to lead fast breaks and also shoot 3s. Ditto for Okungwu who was seen as Bam JR. Ask GSW and CLE if they'd rather have guaranteed Bradley or Wiseman/Okungwu

I clearly spelled out how I view Mobley, starting 4, small ball 5.

SF is you trying to change the narrative.

No one really sees Giannis as a wing (or SF in your preferred parlance).

So Mobley will be just fine.

On the boards, TS%, BPM, Box Plus Minus and Drtg.

    Day ONE.

I am not sure if this is sarcasm, but part of the reason we even got KPJ in the first place is because he and Sexton did not work. There was the locker tantrum, but these two also could not work together and KPj was being held back. That is the general consensus on Sexton, is that he is a me first guy that does not make the team better which is why a bad Cleveland team is shopping a 22 year old prior lotto pick

If we could flip Sexton for something of value I would be for this, but given this groups record on flipping assets (essentially turning James Harden into Kelly Olynyk) I am not confident in their ability to make incremental trades like Morey was able to. I understand there was more to the Harden trade, but I think for the first time in the era without Morey we did not see an immediate and obvious incremental upgrade in every trade we made. It wasn't so much the return for Oladipo that is concerning, it was the way the negotiations took place and how the Rockets front office looked inexperienced in that deal. There are areas where this current front office may be better, but it seems like Morey handled all of the negotiating and calls and these other guys were in the background and didn't get that experience.

The reality is that he is *not* even close to being guaranteed to be as good as Beal. And you do have to factor in Mobley’s expected outcome, which while risky (like any pick), could play out favorably in spades. I think Mobleys attainable ceiling is higher than Greens today. No one knows what will actually happen, but I think you have to consider that Mobley could be an equally safe pick from a productivity standpoint and also that his ceiling could be marginally higher.

Remember when Spencer Haywood was offered from Nike either a 10% stake in the company, or a $250,000 check?

    Remember what he chose?

The other said he'd take Mobley over guaranteed Bradley Beal. I didnt say Green is guaranteed Bradley Beal.

How the hell is Mobley "equally safe" pick? Mobley has a higher ceiling than Green but he also has a considerably lower floor. That aint up for debate at this point. Dude is stick thin and only shoots 30% from 3. Worst case scenario he can be a bust if he is unable to build enough muscle mass to fight down low and his shooting remains abysmally bad.

Remember when Michael Jordan was so bad he got cut from high school bball team, then he turned into the GOAT?

I guess every bball highschool player who gets cut has GOAT potential right?

That story is stretched hard asf. He was a sophomore that was cut from the varsity team and relegated to a starting role on the Junior Varsity team because they couldn't give him enough minutes on Varsity.

And you stretched that Nike scenario as well. They are both outliers. How many small companies turn into Nike? Its just as small as varsity subs turning into NBA superstars. How about you give me 250k grand and I give you 10% stake in a small startup?

@roslolian Terrible argument aside, my point still stands. EVEN IF he were a guaranteed Bradley Beal, I'd still likely take Mobley over him in our circumstance.

You don't just get to make up fake dollar amounts representing the prime of a player when LITERALLY NOBODY on this planet could possibly guess how their careers will turn out. A Tim Duncan/Giannis hybrid is alot better than two hundred something somethings more than Bradley Beal. I don't want to get into another fake argument with you, on no planet does Jalen Green represent $800k and Mobley $1mil. That's the most asinine, arbitrary and insane thing I've ever seen posted on a basketball forum.

What did I stretch? A completely fake and arbitrary argument that you made up?

jalen shot, what, 36% from 3? And a streak 36% at that. Sure, there’s hope and some reason to think he’ll improve those numbers, but there’s no guarantee that Green is all that great from long range either...

You are right nobody can guess what happens but you are the one who said you'd take Mobley over GUARANTEED Bradley Beal right?

I'm just playing with your scenario and showing you why taking an unknown Mobley over GUARANTEED Bradley Beal is wrong.

36% from 3 on 5 attempts vs grown ass men/former NCAA stars is a hell of a lot better than 30% from 3 attempts in the NCAA and using college 3 pt line.

Green right now is what Mobley will become if he works really hard on his shot.

If @roslolian can make the dumbest argument known to man right here:

Then there's no reason why I can't flip the coin and ask him a question in return. If I were to offer you a check worth $1, and a check worth $150,000,000, which would you take?

Do you realize how dumb that point you tried to make was? Anybody can pretend that they know the peaks of upcoming NBA players, but the reality is that you don't. My hypothetical stated that I would still take Mobley EVEN IF Jalen were a guaranteed Bradley Beal. There's nothing up for debate here, it's a subjective point. Are you going to argue something subjective now? Do you REALLY CARE that much what I think? It's not like I was trying to persuade anybody.

A guaranteed Bradley Beal is like 800k usd, its a lot of money but it isnt 1M just like how Bradley Beal is like a an all star but he isnt a superstar.

Mobley can turn into a superstar but he can be a bust. He is an unknown. He can be 1M or he can be 1 usd.

The dollar amount is just an approximation of their talent. You are right nobody can say that definitively but when you say you'd take Mobley over guaranteed Bradley Beal that's the scenario you are implying right? You arent in a position to "take" anything in real life all of these are just hypotheticals.

Everybody has an opinion and I didnt say you were right or wrong. I just said most people would take the sure Bradley Beal over the unknown just like most people would take 800 grand over 400-1M. That's because its a game of chance, there is a right choice and wrong choice based on the chance and probability. I'm sure someone smart can do the maths but instinctively if something is a known commodity you can put a value to it and it'll have worth over something that is unknown. A bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush and all that.

You are the one who brought up that Nike argument then started attacking me when I said Id give you 10% stake in a startup if you give me 250k grand right now. That just means you dont even believe what you are saying thats why you get all defensive and start the personal attacks.

Just cuz you too dumb to understand doesnt mean you automatically say something is dumb.

The Nike argument was a counter to your fake and arbitrary attempt at trying to sound smart.

Nice projection lmao. My fuse is short with you after the long winded useless debate we had the other night so apologies if I'm abrasive. I respect your opinions, but you often present them as arguments.

Lol I'm not trying to be smart just showing why a sure Brad Beal would go no 1 in pretty much any draft.

What happened with Nike is an outlier and even with that knowledge most people would still choose the known commodity given the odds of that happening and limited information we have.
