How did Russell survive his battles with Wilt with those puny shoulders?

Heck, how did he win ONE NBA game nevermind ELEVEN championships????

Great pic and post. One thing to note is that Bill Russell’s legs were really thick and Mobley’s legs are toothpicks. I want the Rockets to draft EM over Green, but do have serious worries about his extremely thin build. We need to be drafting him for the PF position as he is going to get shoved around like a little girl by most of the NBA level centers out there today. If he develops some mass in a few years then move him to Center.

Nate Duncan brought up a great point about Mobley. As long as he is capable of playing center in a couple years, his value and floor is really high. As centers with his skillset is really rare. The problem however is if he doesn't build up the strength, ability to play center in the NBA and is instead a pf. Suddenly those perimeter, switching, passing, shooting abilities and skills aren't all that uncommon in forwards around the league.

Russell only averaged 15 points a game for his career. Both Mobley and Green have a decent chance to be disappointing.

shoulder gurus would’ve been saying back in the day that KG and Giannis are too thin and weak and would be projects that take years to develop, so we shouldn’t draft them

now not only does Mobley have shoulders that are too small even tho they look the same as young KG, AD, and Giannis, but his ass is so high it’s at his neck

Can I have "supporting cast" in 1956 for 1000 Alex?

I guess if the argument is Bill vs Wilt in the battle of shoulders then Wilt dominated Bill routinely.

    Regular season H2H matchups: Wilt = 29ppg/28rpg/48%fg/3.8 ast~~~ Bill = 14ppg/23rpg/37%fg/4.4 ast

    Playoff H2H matchups: Wilt = 25ppg/28rpg/50%fg/4.1 ast~~~ Bill = 15ppg/25rpg/42%fg/4.9ast

Edit: Context is key though right?

    Absolutely context counts!

    Russell made his teammates better.

Russell was the best player on a STACKED Celtics team, but he was never the the most prolific scorer.

Wilt was the prolific scorer, the physical freak who was bigger, stronger and could jump higher than any NBA player in his generation and for generations to come.

    But Russell was a winner.

It's not about the counting stats, it's about the W's.

    LOL

It's a wonder that Mobley is capable of even walking without falling with such tiny shoulders and an ass sticking out his head.

Why do all the threads keep turning into musings around Mobley's ass? It's super weird haha.

Iam just thankful we have this decision to make. Either choice is a huge win. I would be on suicide watch if OKC got our pick if it had fallen to say 5.

Not just a good passer but his ability to pass out to open teammate almost instantly once he gets the ball is noteworthy.

Mobley the next Bill Russell and Green the next Kobe. Rockets are in good hands.
More like a bigger Ja Morant vs Jared Jefferies.

We saw the picture, but he’s working out with Steven Adams. That’s a good thing. Doesn’t get much bigger or stronger in the league than that. Dude is a brute. Encouraging sign that he’s already working.
