You guys gotta stop feeding the troll... This dude toxified the Texans forum and now he's gonna do the same with this draft in the GARM. Let the nonsense fall on blind eyes and silent keyboards. It's really pointless to clutter up these threads with the same circle jerk of back and forth that has been going on for the past few weeks now.
Key takeaways: 1. By all accounts Houston is locked on to Green. 2. Also, some of what you hear are smokescreens. 3. Actually, a lot of what you hear early are smokescreens.
Plethora of Professional NBA Scouts player evaluations >>>>>>>>>>> Bobbythegreat's player evaluations. Carry on.
You're right. Don't know what's wrong with the guy. Maybe if we all put him on ignore? Would we get docked for collusion if we worked that out?
In Stone We Trust. I'm really interested to see if sending Gordon to Indiana becomes a reality, with or without getting the 13th pick back.
If the Rockets are convinced that Cleveland is slobbering for Mobley, they could just take him at #2 and trade him for #3 and whatever they can hijack off of them… obviously this could backfire on the Rockets and we end up with the next Chris Bosh.. ……. ……. …….
I encourage anyone who is incapable of holding intelligent and civil discussions to do so. You will not be missed and the board will be better for your self censorship.
Instead of the unintelligent babble, explain why you think the traditional SG who can't play any other position or hold any other role on the team who can't defend any position at all is "versatile". Is it simply because he can score at the rim and is a streaky shooter too? That's not really "versatility", it's just a description of a traditional SG. It's like hearing about a versatile singer who performs both R & B.
Putting our critical thinking caps on for a sec. Cleveland is heavily rumored to be shopping Sexton. Cleveland will most likely pay up and retain Allen. Green is only working out with Det and Hou, not Cleveland. You only workout with teams if there is a chance to improve/solidify your draft stock. All signs point to Cleveland targeting Green and have already given him a promise at #3 that’s why he’s only working out with the top 2 teams. Houston is debating between Green and Mobley. Pretend for a second that they actually prefer Mobley despite the rumored interest in Green. After all, it is said that the analytics side likes Mobley more and last I checked Stone and Eli were still hired by Daryl. But if the whole world knew that, would Cleveland ever want to trade up to #2 when they can just get their guy at #3? Not saying Houston doesn’t just genuinely like Green, that’s possible. But IF I wanted Mobley, I would definitely be spreading rumors about how I’m lean towards the guy I know Cleveland wants in order to squeeze them in a trade up. Also, a lot of what you hear early are smokescreens.
Then it turns out Green is the one Cavs covet all along. Of course nothing wrong with picking Mobley. He could turn out great like you said. Just saying don’t play stupid games. If we can trade up, do it. Otherwise just pick whoever you like better between Mobley and Green.
I had him blocked a few years ago. That was based on posts in the d&d. Regardless he is the single solitary member I have ever blocked on clutchfans in 20 years.
So many Streaky shooters are in the HOF you know. Hell most players that ever played are streaky shooters. You want versatility? 1) catch and shoot 2) shoot of the bounce 3) get to the basket 4) good slasher and cutter 5) good handle 6) a beast in the open floor 7) very athletic 8) hits free throws 9) plays through contact 10) better passer than advertised 11) a vertical threat 12) finishes with either hand 13) has pick and roll capabilities 14) can iso and get his own shot And Get this…he is only 19 Yes he has things to work on defensively Yes he needs to get stronger Yes he needs make better reads with the ball in his hands But that goes for most prospects coming into the league..
Not to intrude on the fun here but if Green can: 1. Drive to the basket and finish at a high percentage 2. Shoot the 3 at a respectable clip (36% in the G League) 3. Hit his 2 pointers at a respectable clip (55% on 2s in the G League) 4. Can score on both unassisted as well as assisted possessions Why wouldn't he be considered "versatile"?
