    That's a great point.

There are so called stars like Harden and Westbrook who no team other than the ones who gave them max contracts would really want to trade for.

There's ceiling they put on a team that talents like Kawhi and Giannis don't . . . even though they might not be the individual talents they are.

Said the same thing about Chris Paul years ago. Expect Houston to get desperate in a cpl years and see if they can get young talent for Harden ... of course by then ,

    It'll be too late.

We may indeed get desperate and try to move him in 19 or 20. But that has nothing to do with Giannis' availability. He's not for sale. He's not available. They wouldn't trade him for six first rounders right now.

As I've started before, we are in danger of being also-rans for the entirety of Harden's career here. Because there are things that need to change for us to be able to be championship worthy right now. And if James and Les don't accept those changes then we will be such a also-rans. So I understand what you're getting at here.

But neither player is going to be traded right now.

Giannis for Bobby Brown, and I might entertain the deal.

I thin short term for the bucks harden would get them to ten finals the next 3 years.

Short term for the rockets harden makes sense also.

Sure long term Giannis is better because he's 5 years younger but harden is only 27 he's a solid 2-4 years younger than the guys he's compared to (KD/curry/Russ/) and he's quite a few years younger than Lebron.

Harden might be the age we're he can be that guy who capitalizes on his peers getting older and the young guys like Giannis on the verge of taking over but not quite there yet.

I love Giannis he's my favorite player to watch outside of harden I said he was a top 10 player easy coming into the league when a lot on this very board said I was wrong.

But you mention shooting as the main difference in there games and I agree but shooting is possible the most important aspect of the modern NBA, we've seen it first hand with the rockets Cavs and warriors.

And harden is a lot better as a playmaker. Giannis is very good but he's not in harden level. Not saying Giannis can't be the primary playmaker but he can't play pg like harden. There is a reason why they have been looking for a pg the past few years.

Harden is just to good offensively and I think a lot of ppl not saying you don't completely understand what he's doing. He's freaking epic on that end of the court. He's approaching Lebron level of offensive impact and that's top 10 alltime stuff.

    Against who, the Thunder?!?!

A team of grandma's could beat them by forcing Westbrook to shoot jumpers all day. His bball IQ is very low - not good for a ball dominator.

Not even ranked as a top 20 player.

It's important to have a franchise player who can get you over the hump -- that means Finals appearances and trophies. There are tons of regular season and early playoff heroes who don't cut it when the competition gets tough. Note how a guy like Beverly energizes a team when he plays well, and imagine your best player capable of that defense and being consistent on offense.

If Harden can dominate against SA or GS offensively, then you can say his offense far outweighs everything else. But meaningless numbers against meaningless teams don't define a star.

3rd seed losing to the 2nd seed is an early playoff exit?

    Shocker.
