Anyone that actually believes we are anything but a 3rd/4th team to make salaries work is not very smart.

It'd be nice if Tilman would set aside his miserly ways and use our Trade Exceptions to grease such a trade and in the process move up in the draft (not #1 from #2, but using those #23 / #24 and the TE's). Alas, the pandemic was not kind to restaurants and casinos, especially if already of second-rate quality.

Yeah I don't even see how that's better than the Portland teams of the last 5 years.

Blazers are using us to drive up the price on Lillard. All players have to do is demand a trade and then the current team that player is on is out of luck. They will never get equal value or fair value.

Lillard will just come out and say, I'm not going to accept a trade to Houston. Houston will back out and price will drop slightly.

What if I told you there was a guy that went against the advice of one of the best GMs in the league and pushed through a trade giving up 4 first round pick rights for a worse player? And that worse player was traded the next year for a worse player and only 1 first round pick.

Seriously this is the only way this will work
Bringing Dame here would be a disaster . . ... mainly because our Roster is not better than Portland's right now
So Our ceiling would be less than Portland's was this year
With few options to improve from there

bucks got lucky, suns got lucky, last year miami got lucky...

it could have been us if we only tried this year... so why not give it a real shot next year?

I would just rather try to build something real then hope for a one season miracle like Miami last season

also, the cost for the suns to get cp3 was almost nothing. The cost for Lillard would be franchise destroying

Dame/Tate/Cade/Covington/Wood, EG/Kelly, KJM/KPJ, is vastly more talented and unique than anything Dame has had thus far. This would be a terrifying team to play against.

If you land a franchise player in Cade, the rebuild is over. It is time to win. You wait and you wait and you wait and you become the Mavs. The Mavs would MURDER to put Dame/Wood next to Luka after all these years of “patiently building”. As would the Celtics with Tatum.

Dame-Cade-Wood would tear **** up for 3-4 years.

Contingent on landing Cade for a fair price, I’d be very tempted to grab Dame for a fair price. (Harden package + Wall) When Dame gets old, you move on with a 22-23 year old Cade…

Heat have always cultivated a tough defensive culture under Riley.

And Suns defense started improving in the bubble and continued Ayton growth in that area.

But Suns defense first mentality was honed with additions of CP3 and Jae Crowder. Both guys brought an edge to the team that was contagious.

Imagine the raging erections Dallas/Boston would get to be able to pair Luka or Tatum with Dame/Wood.

All of this said, definitely not going to happen. But it was a fun exercise, eh?

Props for the interesting post. Basically you traded Harden for Dame and Jalen Green. KPJ, Wood, Dame and Green isn’t a title contender but it would be fun to watch.

Who/what are we trading to get dame? if we trading the 2nd pick of the draft, how u gonna get Cade? How the fk do we get covington? some folks r quite delusional thinking this is 2k where u can trade your sht and grab the good players at a discount.

Dame coming here is gonna b a budget rocket, an inferior one. Dame is not gonna carry us anywhere, so it's a big fat fking waste of time, just tank and stick with the plan.
