We get rid of Wall, add Lillard, Cov, and get Cade in the draft while still keeping all our worthwhile young players as well? Don’t u think that’s wishful thinking Rudy?

With our boatload of picks? We could land Dame and Covington with the Harden picks, right? At worst it is a competitive offer. Can any other team offer that much 1st round currency deep into the future? OKC is out of this deal.

We might currently have intel that Detroit wants Jalen Green, who knows? Shouldn't cost too much to move up one pick If that is the case.

Nah its a fair point thou, soo many people crying over losing Harden and a 17 win season and now that we can jump back into contention instantly and getting eliminated in the 1st or 2nd round people are saying hell nah....

I rather keep our picks and rebuild from the ground up the right way, but there are way too many "Rockets Fans" that hate the organization, hate Tilman, hate what they have done with the team and have been crying all year over it. Now there is a legitimate chance to get virtually the same thing back and now everyone wants the picks and the rebuild.

Seems like people will always have have something to cry about...

If you could add Dame and Cade this offseason with a flurry of our accumulated picks, that is rebuilding the wrong way?

    Again,

Dame/Cade/Wood as your core 1-2-3 punch. Tate/Covington/Gordon/Kelly flanking. KPJ/KJM still developing.

By all means, rebuild the incorrect way If this is at all possible.

Even if i thought that Dame is equal to Harden on the court, I still disagree.

Rockets lost far more than just Harden.

A Dame trade will not get Rockets back to the top of the West.

    Not even close.

Seems like Dame is looking for some competitive certainty, and a starter for 30 games in an injury plagued season and a rookie is the opposite of certainty. Why get a player who is disgruntled about getting knocked out of the 1st or 2nd round every year, when on paper, his new ceiling will be getting knocked out of the 1st or 2nd round every year. Also, we would have little to no assets left to upgrade that team.

I prefer to hopefully hit with this number #2 pick and another player, whether we get a surprise out of our 1st rounders or not, tank again next year, then try to lure a big name. Also selling on those Brooklyn picks now, would be a sell low.

I can’t see them taking an albatross like Wall or not getting any young player that’s worthwhile, and not getting our #2 pick as well

Agreed. Tough sell to Dame potentially, but can anyone really deny that Dame-Cade-Wood is a nasty 1-2-3 combination?

Throw Tate and Covington in there for defense, dear lord... EG/Kelly/KPJ/KJM off the bench.

Wall only has 2 years and is a proven tank commander. He becomes valuable next year when he is expiring.

We could give them nearly the exact same package we got for James Harden.

What trade out there is better than that for Portland? At worst that is a competitive offer depending on their rebuild strategy, right?

Unless they'd somehow take John Wall, it makes absolutely no sense for a bottom-feeding team at the beginning of a rebuild to take a 31-year-old Lillard with four years left on his contract. Hell, considering there's four years left, it might not even make sense to trade Wall for him since he "only" has two years left (or one if he miraculously opts out of his final year).

... But if anyone would make Stone do it, it's Fertits.

(Makes sense for the rest of those teams, though. Other than maybe the Kings)

Problem here is Cade thou, we aren't getting Cade.... If anything, Mobley is the pick we should want if Dame is coming here. I'm not even against it, we can enjoying winning basketball again. Not championship ball because we did not even make the finals during Harden's tenure. But we would have some good games and still have a potential super star in Green or Mobley paired with a current star....

I'm not for it or against it, but if it happened I would most likely be excited to see some stars in Houston again....

If we’re being serious, I don’t see how the Rockets land Dame without giving up the #2, and I certainly don’t think they’d be able to trade for Dame, keep #2, AND have enough ammo to trade up to 1.

Link? Last I heard Detroit is having Jalen Green in for a workout. Doesn't seem impossible that we could land Cade, imo.

Would anyone here turn down Dame-Cade-Wood with Tate and Covington for their precious long-term rebuild? Genuine question.

The only thing Dame and Harden have in common on the court is that they are both choke artists in the playoffs..

But we weren't as close to a chip with Harden as many posters believe we were, I can't honestly say Dame gives us more or less than Harden when its all said and done.

Maybe Harden paired with someone like Giannis in Houston yes I would feel confident in a chip but that was never going to happen so I don't see why Dame would be much different here.

So Dame will cost more than James Tiberius Harden?

Strongly disagree. Rafael has ground to stand on here, and plenty of assets without the #2, or even a young player. If they take the Harden package, we still have picks and players leftover, specifically Detroit's own pick.

I think it’s unfair to call Dame a playoff “choker.” He averaged 34 points a game this playoffs.

I think he could, yeah. He’s not really demanding out like Harden and has a longer contract. Portland is in a really nice negotiation spot.

What in the world? We were up 3-2 against GSW in the WCF. Run the math... We were super damn close.

I think it’s a competitive offer if u take out Wall

difference to me is that BK wasn’t giving us 1 of the worst contracts in the league with those picks, and BK was also on Harden’s list…and tbh, the best thing we got from the Harden deal was becoming trash enough to get the #2 overall pick

Pelicans could offer Ingram, Hart, the 10th pick this year, and a whole bunch of picks and pick swaps as well as the picks they got from the Jrue trade
