Few team executives expect a Dame deal to happen this offseason. But multiple front-office sources say the Heat, Kings, Knicks, Rockets, and Sixers have recently been the most aggressive suitors.

Front-office executives say that if the Blazers eventually move Lillard, they can expect a return rivaling or surpassing what the Nets gave up for James Harden: multiple young players, plus three first-round picks and four first-round pick swaps. Harden is a former MVP, but he had only two guaranteed seasons left on his contract at the time of the trade. Portland could do even better because Lillard has four seasons remaining on his contract worth a grand total of $176 million. The long-term security in Lillard’s contract could lead to more interest from teams and more return in a trade.

If we're involved I hope its as a third team to help facilitate Dame to his new destination. We can get a little piece of the pie.

The blazers would want the two pick along with KPJ or Wood. Dame by himself is not going to take this team anywhere. It literally makes no sense

lol maybe Portland executives say that .

the extra years mean nothing if stars can just demand a trade on-demand .

ask Houston how those years left on Harden’s contract assured us he would be here

we didn’t get a true Kings ransom for harden for a few reasons , but the years left on his deal wasn’t one imo

Yeah, let's not worry. Dame won't come to a team in shambles / disarray. He wants to at least compete for a ring. The only ring we have going on around here is inside the toilet bowl.

This has Tillman written all over it. Keep the team interesting enough to keep the crowds but at the same time keep the costs to a bare minimum instead of a rebuild .Stupidity

Yep, just as I feared that Tillman won't have the patience to rebuild properly.

Dame, a barren roster, and an unproven coach = lottery team

Stone said this just a few months ago…

“For sure, draft picks are at least as valuable as trade assets as they are as picks,” Stone said, though he tempered that note by painting a long-term perspective. “We’re really committed to building something to give us a chance to win a championship. We’re not packaging a bunch of picks to barely make the playoffs for a year or two, not at all. We’re trying to build something sustainable and with players that will be good now and great later.”

trading for Dame would go against everything he claimed he was trying to do

    That's a "No Go"

We would be worse than his situation in Portland......making him even more unhappy.

Lillard would demand a trade from the Rockets

We have been there (Harden/Westbrook), done that....don't need to relive it

Rockets ain't trading for Lillard. That would be horrible.

    *remembers Tilman is the owner*

Ok we might trade for Lillard

I think Damion will refuse to come to Houston, and the Blazers will reject their offer. They might want Wood and the second pick. That won't be enough. Damion's contract is too big. Tilman is looking for Westbrook version 2.

    I think Tilman is crazy.

If there were other plans to build around Dame and C-Wood then maybe, or if they could do it while keeping their second pick. But in reality Dame probably has 3-5 more good years left, and we wouldn’t win anything within that window so I don’t really see the point.

Maybe he wants to use it to get John Wall's contract off our books? Flip Dame?

    That would be ok.

Sure, but I seriously doubt if the Blazers will take Wall even with the 2nd pick. He might even offer them all of the 3 picks.
