If Green the pick, then need to trade up for Kai Jones. 2nd - Jalen Green 12th - Kai Jones (EGo + 23 & 24) 40th - Vrenz Bleijenbergh (House trade) Need more defense, length and playmaking.
IF Jalen Green and Kai Jones are on the same team the Houston Rockets will dominate the highlight reels next year. This scenario is where I would covet a guy like Garuba to come in and start playing lock down defense from Day 1. Dont ask me how to make that happen though. I would trade Wood if it meant I could secure Usman Garuba along with Kai Jones.
The problem with that is EGo has negative value. So the cost of #12 would be much higher than him and those 2 picks, IMO.

I've been on that Cam Thomas train for a while now. 2nd best pure scorer in this draft hands down. Jalen Johnson at 26 WOW!
Not sure Kai Jones can start day 1. Maybe year 2 or even year 3, like Capela. Garuba and Kai would be a great haul. But unsure how that trade could or would look.
1. Detroit Pistons: G Cade Cunningham 2. Houston Rockets: G Jalen Green Green has the most upside out of any player in this draft class and held his when going head-to-head against pros during the G League bubble season. As an elite high school player, Green excelled at getting to the rim whenever he wanted thanks to his speed and athleticism, but he made adjustments this past season going up against tougher competition. Green is an underrated passer and had seven assists in one half, showing NBA scouts his versatility. Green and Kevin Porter Jr. are a dream backcourt that will add excitement to this young Rockets team as they begin to rebuild. 3. Cleveland Cavaliers: G Jalen Suggs 4. Said all along that Scottie Barnes is top 5. Maybe even top 4. Trey Murphy is lottery pick now? And Moses Moody, Kai Jones, Keon Johnson, Jalen Johnson and Corey Kispert have all fallen out of the lottery? CRAZY Greg Brown keeps dropping like a Stone. Rah-fell should pounce on that.
Rockets better NOT take 3 guards in this draft. But Cam Thomas falling to 24th is insane, he could be the best offensive player in this draft.
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...t-no-2-warriors-keep-picks-draft-moses-moody/ 1. Detroit - Cade Cunningham 2. Houston - Jalen Green I have Evan Mobley second on my board, but the intel around the league is that the Rockets are zeroing in on Green at No. 2, which makes sense for a team at the very cusp of a rebuild. Green is a potential No. 1 scorer whose ball-handling and playmaking have continued on an upward trajectory. One scout told me he'd be shocked if Green never averaged 25 points per game in a season during his career, so a pretty safe bet for Houston's future. 3. Cleveland - Evan Mobley 4. Toronto - Jalen Suggs 5. Orlando - Scottie Barnes 6. Oklahoma City - Jonathan Kuminga 7. Golden State - Moses Moody 8. Orlando - James Bouknight 9. Sacramento - Franz Wagner 10. New Orleans - Corey Kispert 11. Charlotte - Keon Johnson 12. San Antonio - Davion Mitchell 13. Indiana - Jalen Johnson 14. Golden State - Josh Giddey 15. Washington - Chris Duarte 16. Oklahoma City - Ziaire Williams 17. Memphis - Alperen Sengun 18. Oklahoma City - Usman Garuba 19. New York - Trey Murphy III 20. Atlanta - Jaden Springer 21. New York - Kai Jones 22. LA Lakers - Jared Butler 23. Houston - Isaiah Jackson Isaiah Jackson is a bit of a project, but has the chance to develop into an elite defensive center with his 7-4 wingspan and athleticism. He needs to add weight to his frame and will likely foul quite a bit to begin his career, but he shows significant promise as an offensive rebounder and handles the ball well for his size. Houston is in a full rebuild, so adding a player like Jackson, who needs some seasoning, is a smart play at this stage in the draft. 24. Houston - Sharife Cooper Sharife Cooper is one of the most dazzling playmakers in the draft, with elite passing potential at the next level. He's constantly putting pressure on the defense in transition and is a whiz in the pick-and-roll. His small stature and lack of shooting thus far in his career raise some flags, but he's well worth a flier for Houston. 25. LA Clippers - Ayo Dosunmu 26. Denver - Cam Thomas 27. Brooklyn - Miles McBride 28. Philadelphia - Nah’Shon Hyland 29. Phoenix - Day’Ron Sharpe 30. Utah - Josh Christopher
Not sure what this means. One scout told me he'd be shocked if Green never averaged 25 points per game in a season during his career, so a pretty safe bet for Houston's future. Is scout saying Green should have ONE season averaging 25 points in his entire career? Or that Green would average 25 points for his entire career? If it's the first, then not impressed. At all.
I think what that says is he would be shocked if he did not have a season where he averaged over 25. To me that reads his baseline is he averages 25 at least once in his career but should be the expectation for his career.
