The Constitution forbids slavery/involuntary servitude except as punishment for criminal convictions.

I never said she is a good person because I don't know her personally but the fact you compare her to boebert and says she has never done anything for the common man is bullshit.

If you were not interested in hearing my rational you should not have posted your thoughts in a forum thats called Debate and Discussion.

You also way overestimate the Power of Pelosi.

    Why would I do that?

Why does it have to be one extreme or the other?

You seem to just want to be angry at somebody.

For one, she stood up to Trump, MAGA, racists, and extremists

Or you mad at that too?

Oh fa sho. Partisan bickering definitely improved my life and the poor people I see here in Austin, TX camping out under overpasses everywhere. Hopefully her standing up to Trump instead of pharmaceutical companies will continue to improve things even further.

And furthermore I don’t overestimate her power. I stated what my opinion was and you haven’t refuted it. She has the power of the house senate and president regarding as I said to at least put Medicare or single payer up for a vote. Put on record who votes yes and no. Her real power resides in the power of the polling. The public prefers a change according to polls taken. But she is bought but pretends not to be. And that is insidious all it’s own.

If you folks are incapable of seeing that. Then it may not be the same but it is comparable to people that can’t ever see any wrong In Trump.

Pelosi is Speaker of the House which is powerful but she doesn’t have the power of the Senate or President. Consider in the 2019-2021 Congress how many bills were passed out of the House but died in Senate.

it sounds like you’re mad at Pelosi over one issue, Medicare for all, and that is coloring your views. Have you considered she knows Medicare for all has little to no chance in the Senate and isn’t supported by Biden and is instead focusing on other healthcare reform that is more likely to pass?

And if she didn’t stand up to Trump and had just let him get his agenda passed where do you think that would leave things?

It's going to leave them losing the midterms likely. This country has two crap parties one being less crappy than the other sure. But when you only have two parties that are both bought and paid for by corporations and the media.

Just because I think the Dems are the lesser of two evils does mean the lesser isn't evil. I am sorry if you do not agree with that. But that is the conclusion I have come to.

I get where you're coming from but as stated getting major legislation passed (or repealed) isn't easy and rarely pretty. The nature of not just our system but any political system short of autocracy leads to compromises and two major blocks. If you look at parliamentary systems they become dominated by two major blocks. Yet within those blocks they often get forced to make unpopular compromises. For example look at how difficult the UK had on BREXIT because the leave and remain sides were hampered by compromises to hold their coalitions together.

The same arguments that Labour and Tory are bought and sold are made in the UK.

You are certainly free to have your opinion but to put the "contended moderate" angle on it you're pretty much always going to be unhappy if you can't recognize the large differences between where the parties are.

I here you guy but I don't have the energy to continue to debate the merits of Pelosi, I just did not like the comparison to Boebert who I think is a really loathsome individual.

Other than that they are both women and in Congress I don't think there is much similarity between Boebert and Pelosi.

i didn't compare her to boebert. i was referring to the corrupt Georgia senator that lost her election. the wnba owner lady

perhaps it makes more sense in the comparison. the boebert lady is just an idiot grifter and yes a terrible person that likely says the N word with relish on the regular.

Thats more palatable as a comparison but the fact that Pelosi has actually done a lot for the common man blows up your argument.

You keep skipping over the ACA because its not everything you wanted.
