I mean, that is the "logical" next step for them after all the anti-mask stuff, isn't it? https://www.cnbc.com/2020/12/02/cov...ake-doses-might-film-to-build-confidence.html HEALTH AND SCIENCE Obama will take coronavirus vaccine and might film it to build confidence – ‘I trust this science’ KEY POINTS Former President Barack Obama said he will take a coronavirus vaccine once one is available. Obama said he would be willing to film it, if that would build confidence in the U.S. about vaccine safety. Obama’s comment came as numerous polls find many Americans are skeptical about getting a Covid-19 vaccine, potentially jeopardizing U.S. vaccination efforts to control the pandemic.
On pretty sure there will be many Republicans who don’t and since the anti vax movement crosses political lines there will be some liberals who don’t either.
Yes, until it's marketed as a "limited supply" thing where haves are better off than have-nots. Anti-vaxxers we know today are selfish parents, but selfish people generally don't want to die...
It's going to be tricky. Trump wants to take credit for the vaccine, but he also wants to feed his Q-base red meat, and he wants to **** Biden and doesn't care at all how many Americans die. How he responds to this dilemma will largely determine the dimensions of the anti-vax movement.
Yes. Republicans will be the anti vaxx party. And yes. Obama (and many others) will film themselves taking the vaccine to quell fears of the masses. The problem is the people who need convincing are the Qanon Trumpists and Trump probably won't do a vaccine PSA.
I think a major overlooked problem is that the must under vaccinated groups (for COVID and all other vaccines) are blacks and hispanics and that has nothing to do with Trumpers.
The issue isn't science for Republicans, it's the truth. They can't handle the truth. And therefore science needs to be tossed out.
I get what you're saying, but the biggest non vaccinated people are blacks and Hispanics who also happen to be overwhelmingly Democrats. I mean, what do you want the CDC to do about something that happened 50-100 years ago today? Their own party leaders are saying to get vaccinated but they refuse. To say its a conservative issue only is absurd. It all comes down to groups of people that don't trust the government for a variety of reasons and not "trusting the science". They are taking their chances.
Honestly, I see more liberals that are completely anti covid vaccine. There's 3 unvaccinated groups: -the wait and see group -the covid is no big deal group. This is mostly Republicans -the gov is trying to do harm to us group. This is mostly black and Hispanic people and Trumpers. But, actual die hard Trumpers are a pretty small group. Most people who voted for Trump aren't the biggest Trump fans.
https://www.prri.org/research/prri-ifyc-covid-vaccine-religion-report/ Republicans are significantly divided by their news sources. Majorities of Republicans who report most trusting mainstream television news sources (broadcast networks, local news, and public television, 58%) or Fox News (54%), are vaccine accepters. By contrast, only about three in ten of those who most trust far-right news sources, such as Newsmax or One America News Network (OANN, 32%) or do not use television news as a source (30%) are vaccine accepters; each of these groups has roughly equal proportions who are vaccine refusers (31% and 36%, respectively). Notably, there are no similar gaps in vaccine acceptance by trusted news source among Democrats and independents.
