It is way more difficult to get a top 10, even a top 25 player via trade or FA. You do not want to put yourself in that situation as a franchise.

A complete bust? I never said anything of the sort.

Offensively, it is pretty obvious in his lack of variety, creativity, and comfort in scoring situations. His high hips too. As well as his lack of moves and countermoves, legitimately everywhere on the court.

Defensively, he is one of the best prospects I have ever seen. Offensively, we have people in here comparing him to Pau Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge. That is INSANE to me.

Putting Evan Mobley with Hakeem would be like putting a Dunkin Donut in a cafe in Paris. No matter what you do, it's still a dunkin donut.

    Yes.

    Different skills but as skilled.

The high hips narrative has been laid to rest already, keep up.

And high hips was a shot against his defense translating to NBA.

It has nothing to do with his offense or improvement in that area.

If the Rockets draft him, I sure hope you are right!

So a big man can't be a top 10 or top 25 player?

All teams leading scorers are not top 10 or top 25 players which is what you originally said.

Is Booker a top 10 or 25 guy?

Going back to my question: why would it be absurd for him to learn or gain anything from training with Hakeem? Mobley isn't Dwight Howard or other stiffs that tried to emulate Dream's moves. He's better off getting that kind of attention and lessons on a regular basis than going to Cleveland and not having a great mentor to work with or Toronto where they have no big man to speak off other than my man Aron Baynes.

Moses mentored Hakeem and made him a better player. I can't see why it's absurd to think Hakeem can do the same for Mobley just to get him to be an above average post player.

Because I think his offensive aptitude is not anywhere close enough to gaining things from Dream, as Kobe did. He needs tens of thousands of hours of basics before he even dares to gain anything from Hakeem f'ing Olajuwon.

You don't put a new chess player in there with Bobby Fischer.

    Of course they can.

No, I did not say that.

    Possibly, but irrelevant.

The key for me is to get a number 1 option on a championship team and to take massive swings at that. FA or Trade for said player is possible, but way more difficult, IMO.

    LOL.

You talk like Mobley is a stiff, his best post move is already a spin move in the lane.

I think Mobley is more skilled than Siakim so what's you point?

The only "skill" Gasol had over Mobley was shooting and post skills and did he have those same skills at 19?

So why not let him go to Cleveland and flame out. Sign him for cheap without wasting a pick. Then let Hakeem mentor him.

I think Lavine and Morant, in particular, are the only guys in the league who are arguably Westbrook level athletes. And I think they are both more athletic than pre-injury D Rose. D Rose wasn't nearly as fast as either of those guys. I'm also really not sure what Blake could do other than jumping back when. He was never particularly fast or agile.

Besides shooting and post skills what other skills are there? He's definitely not as good of a passer as gasol either. Everything else is just pure altheliticism
