I think he realized if Suns win this one then finals MVP is going to Booker due to his 40 pts performance, so he decides to throw away this game so that he may have a chance at taking MVP later on in the series. I wouldn't put it past him to scheme like that.
I mean CP3 was ahead Booker in the scoring stats until last night, had he just put on a good performance Booker's 40 wouldn't have mattered or probably even happened.
hmm perhaps youre right...but imho heres what happened, cp3 just didnt have it this night, and or was too much bothered being full court pressed, hes also injured, so seeing Books 40pts burger is on its way he decides to give away this game... 40point burger seals it for Bookers MVP case or at least gives gives him a big BIG edge entering the last game
Giannis continuing to shut all the haters. I hated when he won B2B MVP cuz he didnt deserve it but he really took his game to another level these playoffs. Best player in the world is between him or KD.
it was refreshing to see him not going to rim relentlessly this game and distribute more (although i appreciate his game a lot just for that aspect alone)... too many people around way too hesitant to attack the rim and settling for jumpers
Bucks earned this one and people saying this is boring, you're proving all those people who say Superteams are good for the NBA and we need to appreciate those same Finals teams every year right by saying that. I am loving these Finals! The only reason it's a bit down is the Warriors for all the hate I have for them had amazing crowds. That atmosphere was second to none. Not seeing that here, but the intensity in these games is there. They're allowed to play physical for the most part, yet the whistle blows on touch fouls that I'm just really confused about. That no call on Booker was atrocious! If Suns had won, I would've felt the refs cheated as a Bucks fan and as a regular fan. The Suns were looking for calls too down the stretch and I'm glad they didn't get them. CP3 with one of his typical choke games. Booker bounced back though, earned my respect! Giannis as well. He cannot help it they fall for acting jobs. Crowder is a tough dude, but was clearly selling calls left and right. These games with FIBA refs would've had less touch fouls, but would they allow all these slaps and pushes? I'm not so sure. I'm just enjoying this as a neutral fan who while rooting for the Suns, won't mind the Bucks winning. Tucker, Middleton, Lopez and Jrue are all deserving and Giannis is earning my respect here too so it's all good. They beat a good Nets team to get here too.
https://official.nba.com/pool-repor...onights-phoenix-suns-at-milawukee-bucks-game/ QUESTION: “With 3:38 left in the fourth quarter, Jrue Holiday went up for a layup and it appeared as though there was significant contact from Devin Booker and there was no call made. Was there enough contact for a foul to be called?” CAPERS: “During live play, I saw a clean sweep of the ball and thought it was a no call. However, after seeing the replay, I now realize that I missed Booker’s right arm around the waist of Holiday, and it should have been a defensive foul on the play.”
There are many things I'm not fond of in regards to Giannis but I love and respect the work he puts into where he's at right now in the NBA. He worked his ass off to go from a raw prospect out of Greece into what we see now. If there was ever a case study done on how impactful determination and hard work is for an NBA career I hope they use Simmons vs. Giannis.
And for role players, Draymond Green vs Royce White (they came out in same draft) and Morey had been looking for that underrated positionless-big (aka tweener) for awhile ...IQ, defense, length, handles, passing ... and he had three FRPs that year and whiffed on the HOF player of that category ... primarily bc of difference in “impactful determination and hard work” plus love for the game. given how much he was a believer in that type of player (ahead of the curve) and looking for one for high value in late picks, he really whiffed badly to not find Draymond out of three picks.
Its a tough one if your the Bucks coach... cause you're not winning the series without Middleton and Holiday figuring **** out. But part of me is like, just get Ayton switched onto Giannis and have Giannis attack the rim relentlessly from the jump. Granted, Ayton is a big physical force that has guarded Giannis well compared to everyone else, but get him in foul trouble being the goal. Could backfire by letting the Suns spread the floor... but Ayton seems so key to them defensively ... and scoring seems to be the Bucks biggest problem here... in my view because Ayton has been so good at protecting the paint without getting exposed on the perimeter (hmmm.... Mobley....??). In any case, hard to see Ayton, Paul, Crowder and Bridges going 14-37 the next game including 4-16 from three, so Jrue Holiday is going to have to do something more than just play stellar defense, which he is.
He has a good offensive game about once every 4-5 games. He did great in Game 3. So the Suns better finish this off in 6 games.
I can’t let you mention Ayton/Mobley without also the comparison to this draft that they passed on Luka and Trae when taking him. Ayton is no better than the 3rd best talent in that draft, if we’re making a Mobley comparison
I think, at that time, mental health wasn't factored in to scouting players as much as it should or is now. We don't know how much of it impacted White's ability/inability to put together an NBA career but it definitely was a factor.
Rofl if there is any piece of evidence for this game being "rigged" it's Devin Booker getting away with two blatant fouls on Holiday when the former was sitting on five.
Imagine if players could be as physical to Giannis, as Jrue Holiday is allowed to be to Paul and Booker.
haha... im team Green, so i got you there. Jones has been so good as a GM at collecting assets and flipping them for legit quality pieces that fit... that Luka+Booker+whatever Jones figured out with the rest of the assets would also be balling right now that's for sure.
